A great little hotel of Thai or East Asia vibes. There's some effort put into architecture and construction making it a relaxing and cozy place of rest. A good find to be in Manila with good value for the price. Staff helpful and I had a courtesy. The only things to improve a bit is that there should be a 24 hrs service at front desk instead of as of now 6am-11pm. There could perhaps be a need of change of toilets since they are of the older type. Had some minor issues with them. For the noise sensitive: To be in Manila and especially in that area it is relatively quiet. You'd hear a garbage truck for 10-15 mins from about 6-7am in mornings from some viewless rooms. Not the view rooms to the Mendoza road. There's some other smaller sounds outside the building to be heard at times. But not from the building itself. It's remarkable quiet between doors normally.

The hotel has been nicely remodeled and the rooms are clean and well appointed. There’s nothing else in terms of amenities - no restaurant, cafe, or anything else - but there are plenty available in the neighborhood. I would stay there again, but would request a room not overlooking the road. The traffic noise just can’t be blocked out. I had to change rooms after a noisy first night, but the staff were very gracious about it.

Nice and clean. And perfect for honeymoon for newly wed.

It was a little walk to the SM Mall AC kept the room cool

The bathroom curtain needs to be changed. AC and TV should be checked before being ready for occupancy. Thank you.

Remodelling of the property is needed. Bigger bathrooms with AC. I didn't have a window & my circadian rhythym was getting messed up. Would be best if the whole place moved to another location because it's in a terrible spot. No dining options. They would not let me check in 2 hrs ahead of time even though the room was ready. Terrible. Phils is not now I had to go around to pass time & come back to check in... 😐😏 The staff was nice but the room was not.

The property started to show its age. There were conwebs in my room. Free breakfast no longer offered.

5 Stars from me. This is an excellent place located very close to the University of Santo Tomas (where I needed to be). It was my second visit, as I consider that the overall value, for the price paid, is superb. Very clean rooms - adequate for purpose. The staff at reception are lovely and always willing to help. Security guards are efficient, professional and extremely helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to other travelers. If only they could improve the quality of the Wi-Fi in the rooms it would be perfect. I would happily pay a bit more for good room WiFi. Having said that, the Wi-Fi in the Lobby is excellent, so I downloaded Netflix Films in the Lobby, to watch in my room. Thanks again Oriental Zen for an exceptionally good value experience.

Fantastic value reasonably priced rooms. Clean, comfortable and well furnished. Reception staff are lovely. Always happy to help and assist. Security Guards are excellent.

My stay was amazing !! The hotel is in a really good location meaning that getting a grab to tourist attractions is really cheap. The staff on the reception desk were so helpful and also allowed me to get an early check in to my room after getting a night flight to Manila. The room was very comfortable. The wifi unfortunately doesn’t reach the rooms but that wasn’t really an issue for me. The only other thing I would mention is that the address of the hotel given is actually across the road from the hotel so don’t be alarmed if you get a taxi to the address and can’t see the hotel - it’s a little further up the road on the other side but very easy to see.
