I would definitely stay here again. It is a very convenient location, right at the gate of Basel - the Spalentor. So many shops and restaurants within walking distance, and right across the street from the bus stop that takes you directly to the old city or the main train station.

The room is very spacious and comfortable with most of the necessary items included ! The bed is comfortable and big enough. I chose Junior suit for family stay which would not make us feel crowded.
Though the hotel is no located right near Basel SBB station, it just takes 5mins bus (no.30 at station C next to Basel station) to arrive hotel. The surroundings of the hotel are silent and beautiful. I love this stay !
Moreover, the hotel provided us a card per head for taking the transport in Basel for free which is so considerate!

Staff was very friendly. Check-in was easy and room was ready early. Breakfast was offered at a fee, but was well worth it. We came to learn that breakfast is not “a thing“ in Switzerland. Most places offer coffee and a baked good. Breakfast at the hotel was a full spread, including eggs, bacon, meat, yogurt, cheeses, fruit, pastries, jams, and various toppings. very pleased with our stay.

Nice hotel near many shopping / restaurants in the main area near the river. Easy walk to get there.
Rooms are updated and comfortable however they use good old fashion keys for the door locks - be sure to use it to lock your door when inside, door doesn’t automatically lock.
We were in room 203 and the sewer odor smell was absolutely terrible. My sister was on 407 and had no odor detectable in her room.
Other than the odor we would stay here again.
