The location is great and the bed is very comfortable. I love this hotel but the housekeeper didn't clean the room throughly. I found out 1 opened water can left on the floor when I entered the room. The housekeeping manager emailed me to apologize. Hope they will clean the rooms throughly

In general, a good stay. The room — a bit small for the price paid — was clean and spacious. We loved the classy decor. But all in all, service is great as expected as a Fairmount accommodation.

The Grand Dam of Victoria hotels. Old world elegance, helpful staff and nice rooms. Ocean view of Victoria Harbor for their specialty Empress 1908 purple gin and tonic. Very British Imperial. Close to shopping and all your needs. Excellent ($$$$) restaurant. A bucket list destination!

QBar staff was friendly and accommodate for us to have the largest chocolate cake of my life!!

I would like to recognize the outstanding front desk lady that helped us check in on Sunday morning. Brown hair and stunning blue eyes. She helped us with recommending places to eat as well as visit, they were outstanding and absolutely made our stay even better.

Incredible stay at The Empress. The staff could not be more warm, welcoming, and accommodating. Beautiful inside and out with many places to relax and enjoy everything it has to offer. Clean and superbly decorated and maintained. Excellent food, drinks and service at the raw bar and in the Bengal restaurant with other opportunities on the outdoor dining decks and tea room. We will be back for more!

Completely lived up to a five star, classic, elegant hotel and then some. World class by all measures; have never been more impressed with a staff's attitude, and helpfulness. A must-stay for Victoria lifetime memories.
