Firstly the location .. right on the Venetian harbour.. close to everything! The room was beautiful- spacious and well furnished. Breakfast was very good ..a tick list with plenty of options and all felt fresh. The staff were excellent .. couldn’t do enough for you and so friendly! Two minor things for balance .. it was a little noisy in the evenings .. some of the bars were playing music until after midnight and the sound proofing was not the best. Secondly, to not offer top up of nespresso pods / tea bags and water on a longer stay felt like penny pinching - presumably if new people had been arriving daily they would have received them ? Small things in the scheme of things - more feedback for the hotel group than a reason not to book!

Vi bodde i rummet med balkong som låg längst upp. Utsikten var helt fantastisk! Rummet var fint, rent med högt till tak. Frukosten var utmärkt och man kunde välja på många goda alternativ. Vi fick hjälp med allt vi behövde – allt från taxi från flygplatsen till frukost på vår balkong sista morgonen. Jag rekommenderar boendet utan tvekan, men ett par saker kan vara bra att känna till. Det finns ingen hiss och det är rätt många trappsteg upp på branta trappor till våningen längst upp. Om man har svårt att gå i trappor kan detta vara ett problem. Det är också rätt mycket liv i den gamla venetianska hamnen på helgen och vi hörde livemusik från olika håll in på rummet tills ganska sent på natten. Men som sagt, över lag rekommenderar jag detta hotell varmt! Fantastiskt 👏

How amazing is this property! Nothing is less than perfect. The wonderful staff, the wonderful Eva and the staff who served us breakfast. Speaking of breakfast- wonderful selection and quality. Eva was so attentive, friendly and helpful Nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful views from our balcony. Just magical and picturesque I highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Chania A++++

Yes, the menu offered a variety of fresh plates every day, along with tea and choices of coffee. We are travellers from Canada and we were made very welcome. Surrounding the area there are many cafes offering a large variety of lunch and dinner menus and the area is very pleasant to walk. The room we had was very spacious , the bed very comfortable and the bathroom offered an excellent shower with lots of hot water

Parking wasn't super close to the hotel but it was manageable. The hotel was lovely! Great views welcoming staff super charming!

Perfect location right next to the water, great central spot for exploring old town and the surrounding areas. Building is expertly conserved and updated while maintaining its character. One of the coolest places I have stayed with a direct view of the lighthouse from our room. The staff is definitely a highlight, Eva especially helping with any questions and an exceptionally warm welcome, going above and beyond for even the little things. With it being the off season many places were closed, however they provided some recommendations of nearby restaurants. The complimentary breakfast was great and helped round out the stay.

What a beautiful hotel. Very aesthetic and very guest oriented. Kyriaki is brilliant and so very guest oriented. Every query of ours was reverted to regardless of what time we asked. Our stay was wonderful and the view from our room with balcony so beautiful. Amenities are very well laid, and housekeeping does a wonderful job daily in cleaning and resetting the room. Thank you for such a memorable stay!

Had a lovely stay at Alcanea in the off season, it’s a great location in Chania Old Town. Kyriaki couldn’t have been more helpful and supportive with any requests I had for things to do or organising taxis etc. The building has a lot of character and history

Lovely people in lovely hotel right on the Harbour

Alcanea Boutique Hotel is an absolute gem in Chania! Eva was exceptional, checking in on us when our flight was delayed, providing us with detailed recommendations of restaurants and beaches then following up with us on our return. The location was incredible and the interior and exterior of the 500 year old building provided for such a unique experience. Despite it being an older historical building the rooms were updated with great amenities. I’d recommend this to anyone, the best place we stayed on our Europe travels!

We only stayed one night, but wish we could’ve stayed longer! Eva was so helpful in getting us settled in, setting up a taxi to the airport, truly amazing hospitality. It’s a beautiful building with great views of the harbour. Can’t beat the location either!
