Love a good flight sale? Us too. From weekly deals to mark-your-calendar classics, Jetstar brings the deals all throughout the year.

Pop these reminders in your phones because these Jetstar sales are ones you definitely won't want to miss.

Return for free sales

Sporadic throughout the year, Jetstar will offer a free return fare when you buy an outbound ticket. Japan has become a popular destination in this sale, with fares going for as low as AU$300 return from Australia.

Sample prices we saw in a recent Jetstar return for free sale:

Melbourne to Launceston ... AU$54 return
Perth to Singapore ... AU$179 return
Perth to Bali (Denpasar) ... AU$189 return
Melbourne to Bali ... AU$219 return

In 2025, this was the airline's Black Friday sale (which we'll talk more about later!).

Friday and Weekend Fare Frenzies

Every Friday (unless there’s another sale on) Jetstar offers a “fare frenzy” with discounted flights for either a few hours on Friday or running through the weekend.

When it's just a Friday sale, it typically starts at noon and runs until 8pm. The weekend sales usually start at the same time, but continue until midnight on Monday.

Route launches

When a new Jetstar route is launched, it often comes with a great sale attached. For example, when the airline launched new flights to Sunshine Coast to Auckland and Cairns to Christchurch, it offered a special price from $215 each way for just 24 hours.

A few of the route launches we've seen in the past year include:

Club Jetstar sales

Although a paid membership, Club Jetstar members have exclusive access to sales which, more often than not, pays for the membership in savings. It does this in two ways:

Early access to sales: Club Jetstar members sometimes get to start booking sale fares up to 24 hours earlier than the general public. That means more availability and a better chance of getting the deal on a date that works for you.
Members-only sales: Some Jetstar sales are exclusive to members and you're only able to book the fares if you are a Club Jetstar member.

Membership is currently $65 per year and also includes a 20% discount on baggage and seat selection and a $50 Jetstar Hotels voucher. You can also use the discount to book flights for groups of up to four people, which can really help you save.

Aussie sale

Sometimes dropping around Australia Day and other times it's just an excuse to have a domestic sale, but Jetstar regularly has an "Aussie Sale" or "Australia Sale" where fares for flights around the country drop to some pretty incredible prices.

It's the perfect time to finally explore your own backyard to those further-flung destinations like Darwin, the Red Centre, the Great Barrier Reef and Tasmania.

Easter Sale

If you want to hop over to another city or country, then watch out for the Jetstar Easter bunny, which usually comes within a few days of Easter.

Since the holiday does move around a bit, this one typically falls in either March or April. Or, in the curious case of 2025, in December -- which we're still scratching our heads aboutl.

Jetstar Birthday Sale

It may not be our birthdays, but we're certainly getting some great gifts every May/June. Jetstar often discount fares to celebrate its birthday. It often (but unfortunately not always) comes with price tags matching the airline's age which meant some pretty incredible deals considering it's been operating for less than 25 years.

In 2025 the airline celebrated its 21st birthday and witn a return-for-free sale, which meant roundtrip fares were available for as low as AU$38.

Some of the domestic roundtrip fares you could nab included:

End of Financial Year sales

Kicking off sometime in June, Jetstar often discounts fares as part of the country-wide end of financial year sales. We've seen a few variations of this sale before, sometimes called a "Mid-Year" sale or, if starting a few weeks later, a "New Financial Year" sale.

Black Friday sales

On the fourth Friday in November (the day after American Thanksgiving), Jetstar joins the sale party and heavily discounts fares over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend.

While it's not always a return-for-free deal, it often is. And was again in 2025, which we were pretty stoked about. This meant travellers to pay just one-way for fares on Black Friday. That's essentially 50% off fares!

Here's some of the prices we saw in in the 2025 Jetstar Black Friday sale:

Boxing Day sale

Just because Christmas is over, it doesn’t mean the gifts end. Jetstar often offers a Boxing Day flight sale (sometimes dubbed the "Day After Christmas Sale" where you can score cheap flights in the year to come.

It's also a great excuse to pick up a flight that you've got some FOMO about post-Black Friday!

While the 2025 deals aren't known yet, in 2024 there were AU$39 domestic flights up for grabs.
