Room was clean. Bed a little firm, but clean. Crisp white sheets; beautiful. The only problem was the noise. Motel is situated quite close to the Pacific Highway. The Coast Hotel is next door for everything dinner. Breakfast is available at the motel for additional cost.

The first room reeked of smoke. The next room was small and ill equipped, dirty, noisy and in very poor repair. Booked because have stayed at Ibis all over the world- this place should not bear the name. Receptionist was helpful and courteous.

Very tiny rooms and bathrooms. No room to move around in the room. Difficult to have shower in the room as it's too small. Only one small fridge for the entire hotel. I never going to book Ibis again.

Regret... that is what I felt throughout my stay at Ibis budget Coffs Harbour. Stayed here for one night for a stop over. The hotel looks run down. Every area of the hotel, including the reception, stairwell and the room had a different, horrible smell. The hotel and room was definitely not 3 stars- more at the level of a bad backpackers. The room is far from a standard that you'd expect in 2026- more like a gaol. The towel racks were horrid. The bathroom very small with holes in the walls. No vanity- a small shelf where belongings fall onto the ground nearly missing the toilet. I could not stop water coming out of the tap. The whole room (4 beds) reliant on the one big too bright light, so everyone has to go to bed at the same time. The air con had a big blue light on it and it didn't turn off- was there the whole night. Could hear other guests come and go throughout the night. And the worst of it the breakfast (described as a 'great breakfast' on a sign out the front) was absolutely appalling. When I mentioned juice to my child, another guest politely informed me that the OJ appeared off- that it was fizzing. The milk for the coffee was separating. The pancake machine did not work. We didn't eat any of it- that we actually may have paid for it- I can't even begin to comprehend that. The location is very far from the beach (8 minute drive) so my dream of getting up and running the coast of coffs was ruined. Spent so much money avoiding being there. TV did not work.

Subject. Coffs harbour ibis I am writing to formally complain about the condition of the room I stayed in last night. The room was completely not ready for guests and did not meet basic accommodation standards. There were no side tables, and the shower was leaking water. The shower area itself was extremely small and uncomfortable to use. Most concerning was the bed, which was in very poor condition. It kept moving and was unstable, making it impossible to sleep. I did not sleep for even one full hour throughout the night. I woke up at 5:00 a.m. and eventually had to place the bed sheets on the floor to get some rest. This was one of the worst nights of my life. I paid $205 for this room, which I believe is completely unreasonable for the condition provided. Sleeping in my car would have been far more comfortable. I feel extremely disappointed and believe this experience was unacceptable. I request that this matter be taken seriously and that appropriate action be considered. Ali A Ali

The only thing that wasn’t budget about the Ibis Budget Motel in Coffs Harbour was the price. Everything else was right on the word: You don’t need a bedside table. Just put your phone and water glass on the floor. Need a good cough? The mould on the carpet that compliments the pet stains on the floor should get a nice hack going. The designer paint job is terrific with 4 layers of previous colour choices all showing through nicely. A bedside lamp? Don’t need one when you don’t have a bedside table, but just stick an industrial fluorescent tube vertically to the wall - everyone loves that blinding glow. The bacterial growth on the tiles on the bathroom shouldn’t be overlooked either: soon you will be able to farm it for some interesting and exotic disease management. And the rusty door hinges add that final and lovely old world ambience that travellers so appreciate. A shame I can’t add the photos here: such a vivid portrayal of Accor at its finest.

Hi Wotif, 2 cockroaches welcomed in the bathroom. Insects moving around on the bed. Also caught it on my carrying bag in the morning. Bed too soft, probably old. It was not worth spending $176 for a night stay. I will avoid staying at Ibis hotels from now on. Hopefully Quest stay better for tonight.

We weren’t told our room was on the third floor with no lifts, as I have copd it was very difficult climbing three flights of stairs. There was no bed side table or chair to put my cpap machine on or a fridge to keep drinks cold. None of this was explained at the time of booking.
