What Guests Say About Their Stay

This was my first stay at this hotel. It was very close to the train station, in a safe neighborhood. Easy access to shopping and restaurants and the historic center. Modern suite, kitchenette was clean, room was quiet, floor to ceiling windows, blackout shades were effective. The bathroom was enormous, bed and bedding comfortable. Minimal views. Would stay there again.

Great location, wonderful breakfast, friendly staff. Very spacious room & large shower. Bed is quite soft - some people like that, my back doesn't. Shower is quite slippy (maybe provide a slip mat?). Floor under the bed was dusty.

Great location, nice and quiet but only 5 minutes from the station. The kitchen area was good, but lacked facilities. I needed to ask for plates, bowls and cutlery. A toaster would've been useful.

The room was spacious. Full kitchen and Nespresso machine. Bathroom ready for a makeover. Old bath with shower that ran hot and cold. The biggest issue was the smell of sewage as you entered the building that carried through to the hallways. Thankfully it was not in our room.

BIG problems with AC, on entire 5th floor....known to staff. We were booked 3 nights. 2 nights struggling with warm room. First evening we phoned to front desk to complain of warm room, with no actual help except "our computer shows it is working". Finally on 2nd afternoon, after 4 calls and 1 and 1/2 wasted hours and no real help except for advice from reception that 'the computer shows it is working", I stomped up to reception and asked to move rooms. They then advised the 5th floor was having problems - ??? why not tell us that sooner??? They tried to reboot their computer program yet again.....then finally at the 2 hour mark move us into a room on 7th floor where the AC worked. Then, when I asked for a free glass of wine for myself and husband as compensation, I was initially told "no, you haven't had any major problems, and its not our fault". REALLY??!! I finally pushed hard enough to get 2 glasses of wine. Our friends in another room on 5th floor had same problem, finally moved. Another guest from 5th floor checked out with a full refund. I was really frustrated that they made no effort to resolve the problem once it became apparent there was an issue, and that I had to push to move rooms, push for a compensatory glass of wine. We wont be back.

The rooms themselves were fine. However, when we arrived, there was no air conditioning during a very hot string of days. The check in staff did not seem to know how to fix it, and they said that it may not be fixed for a few days! When I contacted the manager, at the staff's request, she never responded back!! After a warm night, we talked to a new hotel staff person who said the fix was actually quite simple and he had the air conditioning up and running in about 15 minutes. Why this problem, which affected many people in the hotel, could not have been resolved right away is beyond me. The manager was clearly unable or unwilling to deal with hotel problems.

Room was very big and clean with great storage space. Beds was comfy but pull out vet was awful. Stayed 4 nights, asked for housekeeping and was told they couldn’t. So we had it scheduled for the day before we left and they showed up at like 4:30 PM to do it after we had been gone all day. Asked front desk 5 times for different items, towels, remove trash, etc and not once did they do any of it. I used the message app to talk to them and the never even replied. Worst service I’ve ever had a hotel and it’s a shame because it’s a great room and location.

Overall, we had a great stay. We got the studio suite. It is spacious with a well-equipped kitchen, little dining table, loveseat. One really nice bonus is free laundry which also happened to be just outside our room. There are a few machines. The hotel is right near the station. The staff was really welcoming and friendly overall. One person even helped us find the best options to travel onwards to Paris. The only negative thing was during the last day, the power went out during a light snowfall. The hot water still worked, but the power remained out while we checked out (1hr or so total probably). The desk agent told us the manager was arriving in 20 minutes, but the elevator was inoperable. We could wait or take the stairs from the 7th floor where the lobby and our room was. We took the stairs because we had a train to catch. Some floors in the stairwell were not even lit, so we had to use our phone flashlights. Then, when we reached the bottom, the power came back on. Unfortunate, communication and urgency should have been better, and the emergency lighting must be better. If we came back, we'd strongly consider this hotel again.

Not worth the money. They wouldn’t clean the room without an extra fee, they never took out the trash and only provided one small trash bin for a family of 4, the bathroom was unpleasant with water leaking out of the tub and no soap, shampoo or conditioner, there wasn’t enough lighting in the room and the window faced another building so no natural lighting either, and the hotel smelled like mildew. However, the receptionist was nice, so I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1.
