You get spoiled by the level of service at the Royal York and it makes everywhere else seem rather lacking, Easy access to the Path (underground path system), transit and close to everything in the downtown core. The staff is just exceptional.

Very close to Scotiabank. Convenient. Expensive hotel and parking extra and expensive too. Dated small rooms. They are banking on location for the price. Lots of loud patrons at night banging doors and speaking loudly woke us. I complained in night. No compensation.

The reception staff were very helpful, and the room itself was nice and comfortable. However, there were some serious issues with the bathroom in room 627. There was no cold water at all. Both sink taps ran hot water, and the shower only had hot water as well, which made it very difficult to brush my teeth or take a shower. Also, every time the toilet was flushed, the entire toilet seat ended up wet. Unfortunately, I only discovered these problems late at night, when I was already in my pajamas and getting ready for bed, so I did not ask to change rooms. What bothered me most is that these are things that should be checked before a guest is given the room. The hotel correctly noticed and charged for a drink I had taken from the minibar, which is perfectly reasonable. But in the same way, I think it is reasonable to expect the hotel to check that something as basic as cold water is working properly, rather than leaving it to the guest to discover and report the problem.

We were on the second floor and could hear lots of drilling starting early in the morning and music from union playing late into the night. I had requested a cot be brought to the room when I booked and had also called to confirm 3 days before we arrived. The cot was not in the room and I had to call down to room service to have it brought up. There were stains in the bathtub, but other than that the room was clean. Check in was a very long process and there was no help with luggage or extra assistance as would be expected.

We stayed for one night in a room with 2 doubles. The beds were very comfy ! We felt it was a little steep to charge $25 to rent a mini fridge if you wanted one when there is a fridge in room but stocked with their retail items . The plumbing had some issues ( water would stop then spray ) . The location is very convenient and the hotel has lots of charm . A little dated in some areas but overall a great stay .

Very nice place to stay especially if you're going to game at Scotia Bank or Rogers Centre. You can self park at a ramp that connects underground to the hotel also.
