I recently took my 8th-grade son to China for the first time, and we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. From check-in, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful river view. I highly recommend choosing a river view room—it’s slightly more expensive, but the view from the balcony is incredible and worth it. The room was cleaned daily, and we were very comfortable throughout our stay. I really enjoyed the hotel food, especially the traditional Chinese dishes. My son is a picky eater and didn’t care much for local cuisine, but we were both happy with the breakfast buffet. It offered a nice mix of Chinese and Western choices. I didn’t include breakfast when booking through Expedia, but I plan to next time. A big reason I picked this hotel was for the gym. My son plays basketball and baseball back home, and having a gym was important to him. He really liked the gym setup and also spent time enjoying the pool. The hotel’s facilities overall were excellent for both of us. The only downside was the lack of laundry services. Unlike other hotels in Shanghai that offer washers and dryers, this one didn’t. I had to take a 20-minute taxi ride to find a laundry spot, which was a little inconvenient. Overall, we had a great stay and will definitely return on our next trip. The location, service, and amenities made it a memorable experience.

Service was pretty good; room was clean. But there were no power outlets for US visitor. The staffs at lobby was not good with English communications. But there were ok with best efforts to help me. Biggest problem is that they don't release my deposit of 1000 yuan even after 13 days of my check out.

I was taken aback to discover a water leakage issue during my recent stay at a Hilton property, as such occurrences have been quite rare in my previous experiences. The persistent dripping of water resulted in an untidy and unusable bathroom, which was certainly disappointing. The hotel’s customer service team did attempt to address the situation by offering to relocate me to another room. However, I was not entirely satisfied with the alternative they provided, as the replacement room was situated on a lower floor and had a smaller activity area. Overall, I must admit that this experience fell short of the impeccable standards I have come to associate with Hilton. As a loyal patron, I had expected a seamless and enjoyable stay, and unfortunately, this particular visit did not meet those expectations.

Very good hotel with spacious rooms and nice restaurants. Wish the spa facility could be a bit more professional as it was closed to guests the whole time while we were there and the staff members for that facility were not too welcoming either when answering our queries.

How do I begin. Whether it’s Billy at the front desk, Helen getting your taxis, or the gal taking your laundry in the morning, the service at this hotel is amazing. Billy wrote down all the terms we would need such as hello, thank you, goodbye, I need a taxi, etc. with the English translation into Mandarin. In addition, he practiced them with us and made sure we knew what we needed to get around. He personally made this day most enjoyable. Helen out on the curb was always cheerful with a big smile on her face and made sure a taxi always available. We have been all around the world, and the service at this hotel was top three. Do yourself a favor when you’re in Nanjing and make the Hilton Riverside a priority to stay. The hotel itself was typical Hilton, topline, comfortable and clean. It was a nice area and seemed easily accessible. Taxis are cheap in China. Keep up the work NHR and thanks again Billy.
