I really enjoyed my stay here. I liked that my room had a nice seating area overlooking quayside. I'm used to more budget options so I was really happy to have a fridge in my room, free WiFi and Chromecast on the TV. I'd read the reviews that mentioned that the rooms were dated and yes, they are but mine was clean and I had good quality fittings. I had breakfast one morning and as a vegan I managed to find enough to eat. I also had dinner on my first night as I saw a vegan supreme pizza on the menu and it didn't disappoint. I would definitely stay there again.

On the whole it was ok , wasn’t overly impressed with the room it was basic and for over £200 for 1 night I’ve had better in the city before so won’t be back. The room was at the end of an extremely long hall giving The shining vibes ha ha. No plugs or usb ports beside the bed an the room also had connecting doors on both sides which I feel we should have been made aware of at check in not a big deal for some but I personally don’t like it prefer only one door to access the room. The bathroom was very dated and in need of modernisation shower over the bath with a shower curtain fixed shower head which isn’t the best especially when it was so low I had to duck under it an the rubber bath mat kept slipping. All that is manageable but we only got one hand towel and bath towel between 2 we never noticed until half hour before checkout as we got up late. The reception staff were very chatty on check in but failed to mention there was a run going on the next day and we couldn’t leave until 3pm due to road closures we parked in their car park. Raised my concerns when checking out to a very uninterested an unhelpful receptionist. So definitely won’t be back here to stay!!!

It’s very handily placed for the arena, football and city centre, the train station is a 10 minute walk. The hotel has its own parking but will try to charge £15 for the privilege, it’s worth a prior phone call to get ‘complimentary’ parking. The public areas are nice and clean but the rooms are a little tired and the bathroom could do with a refurb. The balconies overlooking the Tyne are nice. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles as juices, coffee and hot buffet all ran out and left people queueing. Also if you have children in your party this info won’t be passed to the breakfast staff so they’ll not have them on your list. Could be better overall but okay and at the right price I would go back.
