Shangri La Rasa Sayang Penang

A fantastic hotel, with amazing and attentive staff. On top of that, the views from the eighth floor were simply amazing.

Beautiful resort location. Well kept. Clean room and facilities. Excellent spa. Beautiful ocean view. Good food and variety.

Hotel is rather dated but kept clean.Staff is always helpful but not well-trained.Location is next to beach but beach is almost gone.A very comfortable room.

Checked in at 5pm. Room wasn’t ready. Nice staff. Adult only pool was closed at 7pm with access only to the Rasa Wing. Pool we were offered was filled with kids and families. Said beachfront but there was no beach you could get to the water as it has eroded away and is blocked by rock wall.

What an absolutely fantastic stay at the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang! From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by this beautiful resort. Unforgettable Experience The rooms were wonderful, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. And the food? Simply amazing! Every meal was a delightful culinary journey. We especially loved the tranquil atmosphere of the quiet adults-only pool – it was the perfect escape for relaxation. Exceptional Service A special shout-out goes to Michelle, the Front Office Manager. Her attention to detail and genuine care for us was truly remarkable. We were so grateful for the room upgrade she provided; it made our stay even more special. We also have to commend the room service attendant who catered to all our needs with such efficiency and a friendly demeanor. Their service was truly awesome! Every aspect of our stay at the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to return to this little slice of paradise!

Average hotel. Poor customer service. I left my prescription eyeglasses and messaged them on chat and called numerous times, but had no luck reaching them

A wonderful place to stay for a relaxing holiday. The hotel has a quality feel with interesting local art exhibited throughout. Obviously well run and managed, the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Overall a great stay. Rooms spacious and have a great view over the garden, pool and sea view. Staff were really friendly and aside from check in, all incredibly helpful and pleasant. Good breakfast buffet. Great pool options, good gym and even has a par 3 pitch and putt which was a bit of fun. Special shoutout to Karim and Muru. Only downside was the check in - 3pm check in and they still could not get a room ready or allocated to us until 4.30pm (we had to leave 5pm for a booking that they were aware of). We were simply told sorry and had to constantly follow up. Was evdient the resort was not at capacity either. Room was obviously rushed as mugs were missing, used utensils still in room etc. Was rectified urgently by Karim. Would return, hopefully with a better check in experience

Variety of food for the breakfast

A beautiful retreat on the sea with lush gardens and wonderful facilities. We stayed in the rasa wing and was worth the added extras. The food and service and location were excellent.

I wished they told us that this was a Family Holiday hotel. The place was packed with screaming kids, especially around the swimming pool which was tiny. When the fully clothed families packed this pool, the water became murky and smell. Pretty horrid. There is absolutely no eating places in the neighbourhood. And the traffic jams to get in and out of the place meant you are stuck eating at its Coffee Shop with the screaming kids for the duration of your stay. The staff were extremely friendly though.

We absolutely loved this hotel - the room was spacious and well kept and stocked. Shout out to our daily room attendant, Momin who was very pleasant and responsive/perceptive to our needs. Loved the pool and the garden and whole property including the spa where you get your services in your own mini villa - that’s luxury! The pool was also amazing with excellent service for food and drinks and towels. Every morning as soon as they saw us they would walk over with the towels and set up the loungers for us. When it got busy we noticed that the attendants would work hard to find loungers for everyone including bringing chairs over from another area to the pool area. Saved the best for last - the food is incredible - the selection especially of local foods/dishes and taste! Shout out to the dining room manager, Vijay who seemed to be there all the time and working hard to provide the best service to us guests. For us, this was a hotel that clearly goes above and beyond so kudos - keep it up, we will definitely be back and strongly recommend it to family and friends!
