Staff is excellent, everything is so clean all of the time. Everything very accessible, great for kids, lots of pool options. Kids club is only about 2 hours per day but they take good care of them. Rooms are very clean. Building is a tad dated, drinks are so-so, food is great lots of options. Beds weren’t that comfortable a little hard for my comfort but I asked for a bunch of extra pillows and that helped. No issues with elevators. Banda bands on the beach every night was a bit annoying (like 4 bands playing something different at a time). Beautiful beach. I would return solely because of the staff and cleanliness. Oh also the weather was impeccible. 27 Celsius every day not 1 cloud.

Riu Emerald Bay was an amazing place to visit. The rooms were clean and the staff was polite. We loved the pool and swim-up bars. The restaurants provided a great variety of food and the poolside cafe at Pepe's was really convenient for midday snacks. I would definitely suggest visiting the spa for a massage. The steam room had a wonderfully minty scent. If I had to change anything I would say turn the temperature up in the hot tub. We had a wonderful time from the beginning to end of our trip.

Disappointing. The plates in the restaurants were not clean. The buffet areas were sloppy and unappealing. The bartenders at the outdoor beach bar ignored certain customers for some reason and did so blatantly. It was busy and the pool staff had a hard time keeping the pool area clean from dirty dishes and cups building up which were on the ground and on the beach chairs. Would not return. However, the beach area was very nice with plenty of lounge chair seating and many beautiful palm trees for shade. Pedro was wonderful and took very good care of our two teenagers when they were eating without us.

We had a wonderful stay overall and truly enjoyed all 7 days. That said, I’ll highlight a few things others may want to consider. This review is for a connecting room booking (2nd and 7th floors). At check-in, despite paying extra for an ocean-view connecting room (needed for young children), we were told none were available. There was little effort to resolve this until I advocated for a solution. We stayed one night in a 2nd-floor connecting room (no ocean view) and then moved to the 7th floor. It worked, but was inconvenient, and no compensation was offered. The rooms are dated and not what I would expect of a 4-star property. Beds smelled musty, extra blankets appeared unwashed, and we had issues with a clogged toilet and a slow-draining sink. The pillows were very uncomfortable, so we improvised. Connecting rooms are at the ends of the building, which offers great views but comes with constant fan noise. Pools and waterslides were fun, though the slides are quite rough—many guests mentioned minor injuries. Don’t leave towels unattended; ours was taken and replacement fees apply. Food was good but repetitive. The reservation app is difficult—lining up early worked best. Staff were excellent and kept everything very clean. The beach is beautiful for sunsets but not swimmable beyond knee depth. Overall, a fun stay with great staff, but some service and maintenance gaps.

We had the ocean view jacuzzi room. Large room with a jacuzzi in the room that we didn’t use but there is a jacuzzi on the patio as well and we were in it at the end of every night. Lots of options for food, we were never hungry. Sports bar had awesome martinis and morning coffee. Lots of chairs at pools and beach. Not one complaint. Would definitely stay again
