Melrose Hotel

Overall clean, efficiently run, and nicely located. Don't expect even the most minimal frills (shampoo, drinking glasses, ice etc.) Bare bones!

Great location. Staff were very easy to deal with and helpful. Room was quiet and cozy.

I stayed with my adult daughter! Great location-we could walk everywhere! Loved everything about it! Very clean and staff was great! Beautiful area- I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

The Melrose was the perfect choice for our family of 6 adults. We had two rooms. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful during our stay. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The location made it easy to navigate to the other neighborhoods and there was plenty to do nearby as well.

Staying at this hotel was perfect , enjoyed my time staying here especially because its nearby alot of things !

Although it was a great location, upon arrival the customer service was very much lacking from the younger gentleman, there were two stains on the bed sheets, lumpy bed, walls were a bit thin, “city view” is a view of the alley way so don’t expect some nice view of the main street that the hotel is on and the lobby smelled like sewer.

We really enjoyed a 2-night stay at the Melrose. It was conveniently located to walk to the city center for us, but could be far for others. It’s close to Anne Frank house and a ton of restaurants/cafes. It was clean, fairly basic but just what we needed. Lobby area and staff were nice. Only complaint is the shower water gets everywhere because there is only a tiny glass panel, even with the shower pointing towards the wall. Other people had mentioned the size of the bathroom and it is small, but it was the water that frustrated us the most. Also, the frosted glass door for the bathroom was mentioned by others and I’d agree that there isn’t much privacy depending on who you are sharing with! Overall easy location to the city!

Hotel was great. When the reservation was made we didn't know about kings day. We woud have enjoyed the hotel more had we known what we were getting into.

Clean, quiet, and staff was very helpful with recommendations on restaurants and transportation to airport. The sink is outside the shower and toilet area, and no way for one to turn on lights without disturbing the sleepy one.

I made reservation for three people. It was one glass ,one chair in the room. The sink was very small with no space to put simple hygienic items. With amount of money I paid for this place I expected much more comfort and amenities. The staff was friendly and responded to our request on a timely manner.

I booked this hotel for a 3 night stay for a trip to Amsterdam. Upon arriving to the hotel the lobby smelled strongly of smoke. I checked in and was assigned a room in the basement. After stepping off the elevator in the basement I was greeted by an horrible smell along with a wall that was held together by tape. The room itself was in terrible shape and covered in mold. I went to the front desk and asked to be moved to another room out of the basement and was told there were no rooms available on higher floors. I didn’t feel safe or sanitary sleeping there for 3 nights so I ended up booking another hotel. When checking out, a few short hours after checking in, the man at the front desk seemed shocked. He asked why we were leaving and why we didn’t try to change rooms or figure something out with them. We explained to him that we had asked to move rooms and were denied. We asked for a refund and were told to come back the next day when the manager would be in. We went back to attempt to get a refund during the time we were told the manager would be in. The man at the front desk told us the manager was in but asked what the situation was. He then said the manager was not in and that the only way to reach him would be through the hotels email. He continued to tell us that there was no way that they could issue a refund. The rooms look nothing like the photos advertised online. This hotel is an overpriced, dirty, unsanitary SCAM and I would not recommend staying here.

En general todo muy bien , buena ubicación, habitaciones limpias ,el único inconveniente es que si vas con amigos ten en cuenta que el baño puede tener la paredes de cristal.

This hotel is in a very good location and the front desk staff is nice and helpful. However, the rooms are very small. We were two people in a semi-souterrain room and it was smaller than expected. There was no natural light and the beds were not the most comfortable. Our bathroom also very small and got very wet every time we showered and due to the fact that there was no proper ventilation, nothing would ever really dry properly.

Clean and in great location

The location of this hotel is great for travelers that want to be in the picturesque Jordaan area with the canals. The staff were very friendly and the room was modern and clean. I appreciate that they have a coffee machine free of charge for guests.

Fantastic location to wonder around Amsterdam with great restaurants and bars all nearby. Staff were super friendly and remembered our name. We were able to come back and chill after a day out before coming out in the evening. They also accommodated us at the last minute when we were let down by YAYS accommodation.
