Hotel Nouvel

Location excellent. Building excellent housekeeping excellent. Property not as well maintained as needs to be for such a wonderful building. No hot water for a shower in the last day and a half a big downer. Minimal amenities.

Excellent hotel. Both beautiful and comfortable. Conveniently located. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had lots of options for everyone in our group. Will come back again.

If I have to give stars ,I would give 0 not 1 due to very poor attitude of receptionist. The housekeeping staff, however, were excellent friendly, hardworking, and did a great job keeping the room clean. They were the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the misleading room photos and the poor customer service we received from Enrique overshadowed the positives. We paid a lot of money for the terrace room and left feeling disappointed. I didn’t have the best experience staying here in other words he ruined my trip from his rudeness where I don't even want to stay but unfortunately it was pre paid.I specifically booked a room with a terrace because the photos made it appear that the terrace would have a front-facing view. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for our room, and it felt very misleading. When I went to the front desk to ask about it, Enrique was extremely rude and dismissive. Instead of trying to help, he responded with attitude, saying, “How am I supposed to get you a terrace in the front? Do you want me to go build one for you?” That was completely unprofessional and not an appropriate way to speak to a paying guest. I own three businesses myself, so I understand how important customer service is. Even when a request can’t be accommodated, there’s always a respectful way to communicate with customers. This interaction fell far below the level of service I expected. The room itself also raised some concerns. The doors and other parts of the room felt very flimsy

The hotel is beautiful and well located. We included breakfast which had lots of options. Generally facilities were good with ice and water as well as a vending machine. Two issues, the first is minor in that house keeping staff would come and collect towels and clean the room but not provide new towels for several hours so if you returned to the room in the afternoon you had no towels but the more notable is the noise transfer within the hotel. We could here the bath and shower running and the toilet seat/lids being put down in the adjacent room and there were lots of noisy guests later at night, nothing which couldn’t be resolved with some good ear plugs but did cause disrupted sleep for a couple of nights until they were sourced.

We loved the charm and the location of this hotel. The staff, the staff was super helpful, particularly Asia and Enrique. It might have been nice to have a fridge in the room and also perhaps coffee available either in room or in the lobby, but other than that, we loved it.

Great property in the middle of everything we wanted to see.

Really nice traditional hotel. Clean room, comfortable beds. We enjoyed our stay. We were able to store our bags after we checked out.

The location of Hotel Nouvel was perfect. Just off the LaRambla. Wonderful places to grab something to eat and drink. Lots of shopping near by. It is a perfect location for walking to the transit center and many available taxis. The staff is very helpful with directions and suggestions. Our terrace looked out over a great neighborhood courtyard.

Very clean and comfortable beds. Very small room but only a bed for the night was required. Shower curtain rail fell off after last shower which we reported. Excellent location.

AC is no good, my family did not have a restful and comfortable stay — i’d like to request a partial refund.

We loved the location of this older hotel - felt very authentic and we very much enjoyed it. I did pay for a room including breakfast, but unfortunately the breakfast room didn’t open until 8:30 am, which was late for us.

We really enjoyed our 6 night stay. The room was clean, the bed were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and spacious. The staff was helpful. The location is great, close to Metro lines and several sites of interest. Our room was extremely quiet and we had restful nights all the time. The gothic decor is unique. I will likely book it again if I come back to Barcelona

Nice location and great experience

Our stay of 3 nights was very nice and pleasant. The location was perfect for what we were looking to do. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They have a beautiful restaurant; unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to enjoy. We did feel the room could have used a better bed. It was 2 twins pushed together that kept sliding apart since there was no carpet to hold them. A refrigerator and microwave would have been nice. The electric kettle was very useful. We would definitely stay again.

The room I was initially given had electrical issues, and I had to change rooms. The power wasn’t working properly, and several outlets were cracked and wouldn’t securely hold my charger, so I had to balance it on objects just to keep it plugged in. The shower drain and bathtub controls were also in poor condition. The diverter for the shower was rusty and difficult to use, and it took quite a bit of fiddling to get the water flowing correctly. Service was inconsistent. The night shift staff member with glasses was exceptionally kind and helpful, but some front desk staff refused to communicate in English. During check-in, I also felt the interaction could have been handled more professionally. I had no issue waiting while other guests were being helped, but I was uncomfortable being told to stay in the lobby while my passport was taken away to be scanned. I understand that passports need to be copied, but having such an important document taken out of my sight without any explanation made me uneasy. The location is reasonably convenient, but cars and taxis cannot drop you directly at the hotel, which makes arriving with luggage more difficult. Overall, I found the hotel to be mediocre. Between the maintenance issues, inconsistent customer service, and the overall condition of the facilities, I don’t think the location alone justifies staying here.
