I was a bit apprehensive before arriving at the hotel as the price seemed to good to be true, but the staff were fantastic super friendly and helpful making jokes etc, the room we were in was very dated but it didn’t take away from the weekend we had, the spa was great and breakfast was yummy. Great location if you are wanting to climb Snowden only a short drive away. The town its self is super cute some lovely places to eat and drink. The only negative I will say is we had to pay £10 per night to park but apparently that was because we booked through a third party if you book direct it’s free. Also the receptionist did say they may be able to price match so definitely worth giving them a call if your thinking of staying. We would definitely stay there again.

The rooms were clean, breakfast very good and all the hotel staff were very friendly. One small negative the was a £10 per night parking charge for the car parking around the hotel which cannot remember seeing when booking

Location was great and the room was enormous. Very generous draws and furniture and they went for a mid-century look but it felt like it came from an op shop. The shower was over the bath and would be difficult for an older person. Little by way of shelving in the bathroom. Walls were marked and in some places the carpet worn. While there is a lift there are stairs up and down on each level to get to your room. The curtains were well short of blackout. Overall at 3 star hotel at a 4 star price. Would not go back.

Hotel charges £10 extra to park which wasn’t evident in any communications prior to arrival. On arrival reception insisted we only had the family room booked for 2 people. After insisting I had booked it for 4 people they discovered that it was an error on their systems. Room decor was very dated and worn, toilet cistern leaked, room was incredibly hot, could hear every move of the room/people above - creaking floors, bed and even flushing toilet. On top of that noise from some generator outside our room. Ordered 4 meals for dinner and after 45 minutes only 3 arrived, again an issue with systems, 4th meal arrived after we finished eating with a free drink as an apology. Hotel pool was a plus. We were required to provide a time to attend breakfast the night before although it was buffet style and the restaurant was barely 10% full - I don’t really what to be held to a schedule on holiday. Despite there being a pool I definitely wouldn’t stay there again. A good quiet night sleep is worth a lot more than a swim!

Staff at breakfast time could be more pleasant and helpful. On first morning of breakfast the only fruit on offer were apples but the next two mornings they had melon and Greek yogurt. On our last day the pool was out of action which was disappointing, thankfully it was fine on our other two days. The hotel is very central.

The hotel was clean, the room was modern and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. However, we were unable to use the pool because the pump had broken that day. Given that the pool was the reason why we chose that hotel this was disappointing. That said, when I raised the issue with management, they were polite and offered a reasonable partial refund, so very positive. My main area of complaint however, is that check in was not until 4pm and check out was at 11am. Why should it take 5 hours to clean a room? This wasn't mentioned prior to booking, neither was an additional charge for use of the car park. Cost for 3 rooms for one night was in excess of £500. I would have expected the car parking to be free.
