A great place to stay in North Wales. A good base for trips out. A great hotel for families with the pool a big draw for the children, at affordable rates. Third visit for myself, and looking forward to a return.

Rooms were tired, for a ‘spa hotel’ it lacked the basics. Staff largely v inexperienced to the point of rudeness. Despite staying 2 nights and having spent my Saturday at hospital with my v sick father, they refused to let me have dinner as I’d not booked Will not go back!

Reception staff were great but the room and bathroom was very small and very poorly layed out. The pool was much colder than the last time we stayed also very noisy with half the pool cordoned off for children's swimming lessons with a very loud instructor! Also cold streams of water pumping into the jacuzzi area. So not the most relaxing time. Quite a few areas need updating. Went to run the bath in the morning and noticed bits and a dirty mark in the bath. Hard bed and thin pillows. A real shame because we are from north Wales and loved the place prior to this visit.

Our stay was ok however the great staff didn’t make up for the tired feeling of our room. The cleanliness was just about acceptable, so long as we didn’t look behind anything when there were scraps of litter and cobwebs. I really didn’t like that the housekeeping team were using towels from the bedrooms to clean with all around the hotel and leaving pillowcases on dirty surfaces before putting them on beds. Thankfully I only saw this the morning after.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were all excellent and it felt welcoming from the moment we walked in. The decor in the lobby area was lovely. We used the spa every day and it was very good. It was nice it was open late and very easy to access. We were short of towels in our room but this was sorted very quickly. The hotel is excellently located, just a short walk to the castle. The only real downside was not being able to leave our car in the hotel car park for just an extra 30 mins after checkout. This is despite the fact that there were not very many guests (so few that they took individual orders for breakfast instead of the usual buffet). I've never known a hotel not allow this. This was a minor issue and we would absolutely stay here again.

A lovely entry and overall decor of the hotel, apart from in the bedrooms where the decor is dated. This is fine as it is very clean and staff are wonderful. However, mattress was uncomfortable. Not terribly, but I prefer the Premier Inn mattresses.

The car park looks very shabby and could do with a tidy up. The entrance lobby is beautiful with lots of lovely features. We stayed in room 119. Very dated. Illuminous yellow walls and a very ill fitting red patterned carpet, all carpet grippers are visible under the radiator. We found a vape in the room when we entered, next to the bed which made us feel the room hadn't been cleaned properly. The socket on wall by radiator is loose. Awful old shower in the bathroom, access via a few stairs. The room was just very small, the door opens and is basically touching the bed! The only positive was the bed. Very comfortable with the best pillows iv ever had at a hotel.
