What You'll Experience

Hywind dragon boat experience class is a dragon boat exercise experience activity. Through simple land demonstration , dragon boat teaching and training experience, students can learn dragon boat sports and experience dragon boat athlete training. After learning about dragon boat sports, they can choose to join the Hywind dragon boat team and participate in various dragon boat games in Hong Kong. The training also includes land-based physical training and there is an opportunity to go to Sai Kung for an island tour.

In addition, there will be 3 experienced coaches in this activities. The coach has nearly 30 years of experience in dragon boats.

Date : 29 October, 2022 (Saturday)

Time: 09:30-16:00

Meeting Point: Fusion (PARKnSHOP) : 1/F, Garden, 16 Chan Man St, Sai Kung

Journey: Sai Kung Pier > Pak Sha Chau > Whiskey Bay > Kau Sai Wan > Sai Kung Pier

09:30: Meet at Fusion (PARKnSHOP)

0930-1030: Putting luggage, introduction for dragon boat sports, land dragon boat teaching, water safety awareness.

1030-1045: Set sail at Sai Kung Pier

1045-1115: Sai Kung Pier > Whiskey Bay

1145-1230: Whiskey Bay> Kau Sai Wan Fish Steak

1230-1330: Kau Sai Wan Fish Steak and Seafood Lunch (Optional at your own expense, the per capita consumption is about $200, if you bring your own lunch, please inform the coach in advance when registering)

1330-1430: Fish steak> Free time at Kau Sai Wan Beach

1430-1500: Beach> Kau Sai Wan Natural Waterfall

1500-1600: Kau Sai Wan > Sai Kung Pier

- Important notice -

It is recommended to change into a dunking shirt and wear sunscreen before meeting. Please bring your clothes to change after the activity. It is recommended to wear wrap-around shoes during the activity. You can rent a locker and change clothes at Sai Kung Tennis Court before meeting. If the locker is full, there will be a place to put your luggage.

Please bring your own bottle of water (preferably a large bottle of water per person), water will refill for you during the training.

Participants are advised to have lunch before the event with almost seven full.

Participants are advised to wear light-colored long-sleeved shirts and trousers for the activity. Short shirts and shorts are recommended with wear enough sunscreen.

Participants are advised to bring a jacket while you can wear while the windy weather.

Participants (especially women) are advised to bring fitness gloves for activities, labor gloves are also acceptable.

Hywind Dragon Boat Adult Dragon Boat Experience Class

Dragon Boat Theory: Introduction to Dragon Boat types, structure, and required equipment

Basic dragon boat teaching: teaching of sitting posture and paddle, paddle introduction: front paddle, rear paddle, stop paddle, water pressure balance, dragon boat paddle method: enter, pull, return

Dragon boat safety teaching: introduction to life jackets, buoyancy aids, self-rescue learning, deep water boarding practice, safety awareness training

Physical training: body weight circuit training, high-intensity interval training

Dragon boat water training: rhythm training, single-person paddling training, long-distance training, water resistance weight training, etc.

Hywind Dragon Boat Sai Kung Island Tour Adult Dragon Boat Experience Class

Set sail from Sai Kung and take an island-hopping tour around 5-6 small islands nearby

－Important Info－

The experience class will be held once a week in conjunction with the Hywind dragon boat training schedule, and the time or date of the activities may be changed.

Please be on time and change into your water sports attire before the meet up time.

If necessary, you can bring clothes to change, and there is water for shower at the location

- Inclement Weather Arrangement -

Cancellation and Postponement:

If Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above and the Red or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued by the Observatory and still in force two hours before the event, all training will be cancelled.

In case of amber rainstorm, thunderstorm warning, strong monsoon signal, typhoon signal No. 1, etc., unless Hywind Dragon Boat announces the cancellation of the event in advance, participants still need to report in time. The final decision and arrangement of the event will be made by Hywind Dragon Boat*.

In addition to the Observatory's warning/signal, if there is a thunderstorm within 15 kilometers of the activity area in the next hour/the Shing Mun riverboat will raise the red flag due to the current and wind speed, the class on the day will be cancelled and rescheduled.

For safety reasons, in case of any situation or bad weather in the middle of the class, the Association reserves the right to cancel or suspend the class immediately, or take temporary shelter on shore until it is safe to continue.

Once the class is in progress**, in case of bad weather that must be suspended until the end of the class, the club will not provide refunds, thank you for your understanding.

*Thunderstorms occur regionally. Therefore, the issuance of a thunderstorm warning by the Observatory does not mean that thunderstorms/lightning will occur in all areas of the territory. According to the swimming pool guidelines of the LCSD, according to the on-site environment and the real-time lightning distribution map of the observatory, the association judges that if there is lightning 15 kilometers above the event, the class will be immediately suspended and the class will be suspended or cancelled.

**When the class has been started for 30 minutes, it is defined as "class in progress".

If there is any dispute over the details of this class, Hywind Watersport Limited will reserve the right of final decision
