Epico Recoleta Hotel

Hotel was centrally located but it needed cleaning, and lots of TLC

It was clean but the cleaners started earlier in the morning vacuuming the hallway and we were across the elevator. They were talking loud to each other and closing the elevator’s door hard. They should start cleaning common areas at least after check out time. I went there to rest one night which I arrived at 1 am and woke up around 7 because of the cleaners.

I rarely write reviews this long, but I feel like I genuinely need to warn others before they consider staying here. There was a strong, unpleasant smell of mold that hit us immediately in the room. It wasn’t subtle, it was the kind of damp, heavy odor that makes you question the cleanliness and safety of the entire space. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop there. When we checked the beds, we found visible makeup on the sheets. Not just faint marks or stains that might have been missed, actual makeup, as if the bedding hadn’t been properly cleaned or replaced at all. The most alarming part, however, was the pillows. They had visible mold on them. At that point, it stopped being just an unpleasant stay and became a serious health concern. Mold exposure is not something to take lightly, especially when traveling with a child. There was no way we could stay in that environment. We went down to reception hoping for some understanding or at least a solution, but the experience only got worse. The staff was incredibly rude and dismissive. There was no empathy, no apology, nothing. Even my son noticed the attitude, which says a lot. When a kid picks up on that kind of behavior, you know it’s bad. We left 15 minutes after checking in. The place looks nothing like the photos. The images are completely misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the rooms at all. It feels dishonest and very frustrating as a guest who trusted what was advertised.

Breakfast was just bread, but overall its a good budget friendly hotel.

It was wonderful place they were very professional and very friendly people the room that we were staying was very clean and beautiful the cleaning service staff were hard working to keeping clean and nice our room 🤗 I highly recommend this place I really enjoyed to stay at the Epico Recoleta Hotel 👌

Staff very friendly, we had problem with the Wi-Fi in the room, signal was very poor. Room was very clean and housekeeping was a plus. Restaurant staff was very polite and very special with us.

​I lost my money. I had a 12-day reservation but could only stay for one night. Since they make you pay in advance, there is no way to get a refund. The elevators are extremely small (barely fitting two people) and constantly get stuck. The TV sets do not work, and the room carpets are filthy. Honestly, this was the worst experience I have ever had.

It was good , stuff helpful , breakfast , good coffee.

Location, comfort and quality of customer service

OK for a night or two for the price but felt the hotel was in need of a lot of modernisation. Reception and breakfast area was clean but food options not good. Breakfast is served to you at a kitchen counter and nothing showing what was on offer apart from the odd things laid out on trays on the counter. Lift was extremely small and old which you have to close the external door and then pull across the gate. Didn't feel too safe. Room was very dark and dated. Bathroom was clean but again dated. Wifi signal poor. Location is good and it was a decent base for a couple of days but not somewhere I would stay at if I was to return.

Nice hotel

The pictures in Hotels.com didnt show the real place. It was totally different. We were really dissapointed.

Not a modern building, you get what you pay for. Cleaning and restaurant staff are nice.

It was all great, the 24 hr check in is a plus, staff was friendly and gave us helpful advices of places where we could go. We could definitely go back!

Paid in full checked in and once we saw the dirtiness of our room I walked out!!! I lost $250 and had to go spend double that to get a clean and modern room elsewhere in the city.

Everything was ok exceto breakfast.
