Partner and I stayed here over new year's and we had a wonderful stay. Stayed on the 8th floor and it was very quiet and in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle that was darwin CBD.
Super comfy bed and walkable to most places in Darwin CBD area. Great hotel, great location and amazing staff!

Very comfortable room, comfortable bed. Aircon quite noisy tho. Close to restaurants and other entertainment. Was lovely and quiet in general, didn’t hear the new years celebrations raging on.

Check in around 2:30am 6/9/2024 was really slow, the only receptionist doing the check in said he was just 2 weeks in the job, took him about 15mins to check in for one guest. The line had only 4 guests including myself waiting to check in, which took him nearly one hour. While serving me, there was another guest cane to have the room card replaced, the receptionist then jumped the guest over the queue and let me wait, very rude and unprofessional. I have a silver membership from Expedia which gave me free parking when booking the room, which I showed him on the phone, but he kept refusing saying he didnt know about that, which I had to talk to his boss after that to have it resolved. Staff clearly need to have more training both in customer service and checkin skills. The hotel is good in general and the breakfast is ok too.

Nice hotel and excellent reception service from Chris, issue is the people hanging around outside in the evening who were drunk and noisy on our return from dinner on both nights. An unfortunate blight on an otherwise decent hotel. Location is also good for walks to the harbour and for a large range of restaurants.

Hotel well located. Appreciated their assistance and accommodation when, due to Qantas cancelling our flight out of Darwin at last minute, we required a room for another night (after already checking out and leaving for the airport).

The Smith Hotel offers a reasonably good experience overall. The rooms are spacious and clean, with all the necessary amenities provided. Room service was consistent, although there was no hand wash liquid available, and when we requested it, we were informed that they no longer provide it.
One downside was the limited television channels, and the lack of Netflix or YouTube was particularly frustrating. Additionally, while breakfast was offered at a discounted rate, the menu remained the same every day, which became monotonous.
It would be beneficial if the hotel provided shuttle services to and from the airport, as well as tour buses to visit iconic locations around the city. I also believe that parking fees should be included in the room rate, rather than charged separately.
The gym on the top floor was adequate, but it would be more convenient if the swimming pool were located nearby instead of on the ground floor near the restaurant.
