ibis Sydney Thornleigh

On the corner of the highway but had excellent double glazed windows. Didn’t like pay $10 for parking though.

This is a reasonable hotel at a reasonable price. My room didn’t have any problems with cleanliness, sheets were clean etc., carpet and pant where pretty much at their due date and the exterior needs a power wash and fresh paint. It’s true that the bathroom is kind of like one on a cruise, but I didn’t find it impossibly small and I’m taller than the average fellow, well over 6 ft. The room wasn’t expansive, but wasn’t impossibly small either. There were a few minor irritations, like a facet that was impossible to use to fill the kettle with, but nothing so bad I’d never return. The Thornleigh train is a reasonable walk away, but it would be nice if it was closer. There is a Woolworth supermarket, some mostly Asian restaurants nearby and a Bunnings hardware store across the street. As long as you are not expecting the Riz Carlton, it’s fine.

Clean comfortable and quiet at night

Oh the bed, I wanted to bring it home with me as was so comfortable. The room was tidy & had all I needed just to rest my head after a long few days working however the toilet was not clean & the shower gel in the shower was completely empty. Other than that I was happy. Shame I missed breakfast having to leave early for work again. Staff were friendly & helpful, Will stay again when working the long shifts again

The room smelt like smoke, it was dusty, and the staff didn’t give any courtesy to the problem when I told them about it.

As you approach the entrance, there is a designated smoking area. This makes no sense as the smoke emanates towards you as you walk into the building and this is the first impression. The room also had a stale smell of smoke and corridors / rooms need regular aeration. One of the beds had not been made properly. The staff member who served could have been a little more friendly and I don’t think this ‘mission creep’ pricing is a sound move - there should be no car park fee. The building needs a good clean as it feels tired. Breakfast supplies were not ready when service started at 6.30 and, even with a small discount as I paid on arrival, it is still over priced. Expected better from this well respected hotel chain.

Not happy my car was covered in bird poo while parked in the car park. The room was great, bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean and functional too.

Adequate room size, clean and quiet. Rooms probably due to be refurbished due to their age. Staff very friendly and helpful.

I never stayed here. My plans changed and after my booking the hotel refused to refund or change my dates. No credit, nothing! Be careful if you book here.

Comfortable stay, friendly staff. My only concern this time was the condition of the shower. The head kept coming loose which meant that I couldn’t have the shower head consistently over my head. I had to keep moving it.

Please have better breakfast options.

The Ibis is basic accommodation done well - no frills but everything you need for a comfortable stay
