Pacific Bay Resort

The property is wonderful however, the room we stayed in desperately required renovation - very tired and old, compared to international and general standards. We stayed about 10 years ago and absolutely loved the resort.

The grounds were stunning, beautifully looked after, the reception and dining area was stunning and the food amazing, pools clean and lovely. The main letdown were the bedrooms. They are clearly in need of an overhaul and upgrade. Tired looking and the shower was very lacking in power. Ok is you have no hair to wash!!! Anyone with long hair, be preparedness to take a while to wash your hair! The bedroom lets this place down!!! Staff helpful.

Location is a little outside Coffs Harbour but no issue if you have a car. Overall the grounds are nice and well kept, but the room itself was a little dated, albeit it we had a comfortable nights sleep.

Great quiet location. Great restaurant and eating areas. Will be back for sure.

Room very ordinary. Nice view of the golf course. Staff very unfriendly. My wife first noticed when she went to reception to request more body wash for the bathroom - abrupt and arrogant response. Then on our departure two days later, it was pouring with rain and we had to take our bags to check out at reception some 50 metres or so from our apartment building. Shortly after 10.00 am reception called the room to tell us we were late to check out. We explained that we were waiting for a break in the rain. They responded that if we did not come to check out, they would charge us another night. I asked if there was a golf buggy available to get us to reception as I had seen them on site. The response was that they do not provide buggies and repeated the threat of an additional charge. We had to run through the rain with our bags to avoid the threat. No service culture there at all. How difficult would it have been to simply ask us to please come to reception as soon as we can when there is a break in the rain.

The room was difficult to find and on arrival we were told that there would be limited bar and restaurant facilities due to a private party. This was disappointing and inconvenient as the resort is too far away from town to walk anywhere else to eat. There was no safe in the room.

Signage to rooms located external to the main block were poor and difficult to follow; no lifts so stairs needed to be navigated to access rooms and this is not made known when checking in. Bar closed at 10:00 p.m. with last orders at 9:30, not congruent with people holidaying and wanting to wind down after dinner. Room was dated

The property's units, I believe are privately owned. We stayed with family (2) rooms. Their "penthouse was disgusting and falsely presented online. If it was cleaned it wasn't done to a standard. While our apartment was reasonably clean the bedroom TV was small, not all channels were available. The bathroom tap had server water hammer so had to be careful that we didn't wake anyone up. The room felt very old and used and in need of a make-over to bring it up to what people expect and would want to come back to in the future. Until then, there are other excellent locations available.

Room was clean and a good size with a balcony. Only there overnight but the grounds and amenities looked amazing. Would be a great resort to spend a few days in.

The room was is a very old state. Needs a refurbishment in room 1103. Mattress was very hard. A bit disappointed. Staff were very helpful in restaurant for breakfast.

We had a good time. The room clean and the amenities clean and well accessible. One issue we had was the cheese platter which was three roughly cut and placed pieces of cheese and an abundance of trail mix that had been thrown on which covered some of the cheese and the quince paste also, so we had to pick the nuts and salts as off the cheese which was effecting the flavours.
