Another great stay at the Kinson. Unfortunately we had some noisy neighbours who woke us at 2am but not the fault of the hotel. Comfortable and clean but the rooms are starting to show signs of wear, especially in the plaster walls.

recently stayed at The Kinson and was overall satisfied with the experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with essential amenities such as a comfortable bed, clean linens, air conditioning, and a functional bathroom.
Check-in was smooth, and the staff were courteous and helpful. The room was quiet and offered a good night’s sleep. Housekeeping maintained the space well throughout the stay.
While not luxurious, the room offered good value for the price and was conveniently located near local attractions and transport. I would consider staying here again on a future visit.

The hotel is very conveniently located near St Kilda trams to CBD.The rooms were modern ,clean and well maintained. Our room had a great outlook. An good Italian restaurant downstairs was a plus

The good - good size well-kitted out room with 2 queen beds, separated by the bathroom. Decent east facing view. I found the 15th floor room quiet.
Not so good - 1. The beds were very soft. 2. I got sent a text to pay for the room when I'd paid already, which was a little stressful. 3. The bathroom had a smoked glass door and had a gap in it, so people outside could see into it and see it reflected in the mirror outside the door! 4. They told me they had bag storage after checkout, but on checkout I was told there was no room (never had this happen anywhere before, and my bag was small so they could've found a spot).
Also just be realistic that you are a few minutes on the tram from the CBD, and a decent journey to the MCG or tennis centre. But if you want to be out a bit, handy for Albert Park, between the City and St Kilda, this is fine.
Based on this experience, I will be looking at other options in future.

The windows in my room were great, nice views of Albert Park. I think the orientation of the room was a bit funny though, but it's mostly due to the big windows. The room was pretty spacious, enough room for a little kitchenette (with small stove, dishwasher and medium sized fridge).
The decor was cool.
There is a cafe nearby (100m) which was a great breakfast option. Tram stop close by, which is also a positive.

Big, clean and well-furnished room with a beautiful view of the city, with the sea in the background. Only 5-10 minutes or so by cab from the CBD, and 15 mins to Flinders Station by tram - the stop is less than a minute's walk away. It was very handy to have a kitchenette in the room. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent, reasonably priced with friendly staff. I stayed in three hotels in Melbourne, and this one was my favourite, even though it's not directly in the CBD.
