Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton Thunder Bay

I am writing this to express my disappointment with regards to the handling of our recent reservation at the Hampton Inn, Thunder Bay. Our reservation was at the rate of $238 / night. We have arrived very late at the hotel, due to circumstances beyond our control. Once there, we were shocked to learn that the receptionist had canceled our reservation. To re-instate it, the receptionist offered a more than double rate. Given the late hour of the night, having been on the road for over 15 hours, we had no choice but to accept. I would also note that the cancelation was done without any attempt to contact us or Expedia. Ironically, Expedia still shows our original reservation as properly consumed and has invited us to provide (this) feedback. In the end we have been charged close to $1300.00 for a stay quoted $565. I feel that we have been taken advantage of, and forced into a deal we did not agree to. I wish the property management would make it right and provide compensation for the above.

Spacious modern room, comfortable bed and great bathroom/shower. Breakfast room was lovely with a delicious selection of food and coffee.

The breakfast was skimpy. Bacon only came out if you asked for it. I waited 20 minutes to get a couple of burnt pieces. Eggs were disgusting, wet, watery, and altogether nasty. No one was eating them. I had to ask to get the Apple juice refilled. Spit out water but no apple. There just was no one looking after things. Not the breakfast I expect from holiday inn. Even the fruit was horribly overripe, squishy!

Great Stay! Clean room, very nice staff, hot and good breakfast, very convenient location for access and out the town. Plus, there's very unique restaurant walkable from the hotel offers tasty food or some sip. I would recommend this hotel for family trips.

I would stay again! The room was clean, the beds were comfortable.

The best Hampton the whole trip to

I had a fantastic stay at the Hampton Inn in Thunder Bay! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. My room was beautifully arranged and, most importantly, it was spotless. If you're passing through Thunder Bay, I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Not usually one to write about this but avoid this hotel

room was clean, bed very comfortable, nice big shower. Free breakfast every morning, lots of choices. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Good option, convenient, lots of parking

The pool was a bit underwhelming. The washrooms and rooms were clean.

We'll be back for a weekend visit.. wildfires kept us from doing anything

Our stay at Hampton Inn was great. Great choices for breakfast, clean room, and friendly staff. The only small inconvenience was that there were very few channels to choose from. After a long day doing the tourist thing, we found that most of the channels featured sports. Oh well. Still a great stay.
