Lovely old Hotel just around corner from Railway Station. Very central. Busy area and, having stayed on a Friday night, was a lot of people around. Room was very adequate for one. Had bath and shower over bath. Bed very comfy and option of 2 pillows. I sleep well almost anywhere, so noise from business next dooe did not keep me awake. Earplugs provided if you are a light sleeper. Staff friendly on arrival and check out.

Staff were very helpful and the property was clean, perfect for us as we were looking for somewhere with a view. However very basic and very old but that’s what your get for a cheap and cheerful hotel. Although looks like it hasn’t been looked after since the 80s

Room had no view ( unless you like brick walls ). Breakfast was great. Lots of pubs, shops, takeaways etc nearby. Would return, but as they now charge for parking this is extremely unlikely.

The reception and cleaning staff were very helpful. The hotel decor is rather dark and dated. The lift was out of order so I had to go up 6 flights of stairs to my room. The fire/room doors do not have a soft close option so you are often disturbed. Walls are fairly thin, voices/tv can be heard through them. Breakfast was adequate, I have had better. Rooms are a good size, with plenty of towels/toilet roll (1 ply), tea and coffee. Very good size tv.

Room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The creaky floorboards were a bit of an issue, very loud in both the room we stayed in and the one directly above us! It is however a very old building so that is to be expected. The lift wasn’t working but wasn’t an issue as we were on the second floor. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food but the location was ideal
