Any room with a lake view is great. I stayed on a Sunday so the facilities were quiet, and used the gym which was good.

Our first room wasn’t great, safe not working, lamp not working and shade torn, pillows were more like cushions, curtains torn and very creased! Desperately in need of a revamp. We were moved to a different room on our 2nd day which was an improvement but still in need of a revamp. Rooms are tired. For the price we paid we expected it to be 4 star but it’s more like 3 star. No Tissues or facecloths - Little things but necessary and what you’d expect from a 4 star hotel. No fridge in room either, again what you expect to be the norm when paying £150 per night. The great thing about it is that dogs can stay £30 per dog per stay) and are welcome in 2 restaurants, it was great to be able to take them with us at breakfast. All bedrooms that allow dogs are on ground floor which is great. The first night we had ate in the restaurant, we both ordered the chicken burger and chips, chips were cold and seemed to have been reheated several times, we returned them, they were replaced with more of the same. I think they were frozen chips but they were inedible. We didn’t eat there again! On the plus side breakfast was good. Overall the hotel is in a great spot, dogs allowed is the big draw for us and the parking, but rooms are really disappointing. I did hear some have been revamped but really the ones that haven’t shouldn’t be used or used at a discounted rate and guests told in advance.

Food was cold and tasteless Waited 45mins from starter to main wasn’t a problem for us but they forgot our mains so worried if we had not chased we would not had received. Staff were brilliant with sorting this out and refunded one of the mains as an apology. A small coffee with almond milk £4 but yet if you have normal milk is free at breakfast I think this was unfair and over priced for a very small coffee which I had to queue and wait for while the family sat down for breakfast At breakfast they should give options for people with allergies to milk

The Good: The hotel is in a lovely location and the front desk is very modern looking. You can go on some lovely walks around the surrounding area. The staff were pleasant and I can't fault the service. The Bad: The hotel doesn't have aircon which with the current hot summers is a bit unbearable. They did supply one fan in the corner of the room, but it was so loud when turned on it sounded like an old tracker. The breakfast was over priced at £20 per person it was nothing special. The same for the bar food, £20 for a standard cheeseburger and chips which honestly didn't taste very nice. You aren't allowed to use the pool unless you book overpriced spa treatments. Overall this isn't a four star hotel based on what you actually get.

The property was nice, only complaint… our bed was horrible. The mattress dripped over the sides of the box spring. If you got to close to the edge, you almost rolled out of the bed. The mattress was very worn.

A great spot for our overnight stay. Room location was great with an outdoor terrace overlooking the lake right outside. The bathroom could do with an upgrade. The over bath shower leaked onto the floor, flooring looked tatty and it just felt rather tired and well used. The restaurant and bar were both good. Would recommend.

We stayed at the waterparks apartments. Bed size for a double is very small, and we had 2 single beds for our family. No AC although x2 fans are provided, rooms can get very stuffy. Swimming is charged at £10 p/p per hour-this includes spectators. Wish this was made clearer prior to booking. Would I visit again? Probably not! My children enjoyed the walks and lakes.

I have very mixed reviews about my stay. I really enjoyed it but not because of the hotel. Where do I start, the staff went above and beyond to make sure that you enjoyed your stay and that it was a pleasant one. I went with a girlfriend and we had a blast. For a hotel of this size it was supposed to have three different types of restaurants a bar, Italian and a general restaurant. The menus were very similar in all three, the Italian only offered pizzas and a lasagne and that was about as Italian as it got. The bar menu was burgers and from what I could see. The general menu was a mix of both. There was no lunch time menu when you could just get a sandwich and no change to the menu for the full four days that we were there. The swimming pool was full of children which did not allow you to just relax around once you to received your Spa treatment which were amazing. They have a real problem with the drain in the spa rooms and not getting rid of water from the sinks properly. We had to move hotel rooms because the shower had no door and the water flooded the bathroom floor. The staff dealt with this issue and were very helpful. Not every room had usb ports so make sure you bring a charger. The setting is amazing and very chilled, I would go back but my expectations would be lower.
