The Highfield Hotel

Staff were friendly and helpful, room was spacious and bathroom was clean - nice to have a bath and a shower. Lovely kingsize bed (and very comfy!) No fridge in the room though which was a shame when staying for more than a night or two. Appreciated the free WiFi and decent TV. The downside was the lack of information about room cleaning times over the Christmas period. We stayed for 5 nights/6 days and only got our room cleaned (and bins emptied) twice as we kept “missing” the cleaning window, despite it saying it was between 10am-2pm and we were out the room by 12pm at the latest every day. One day we left the room at 9am specifically to get the room cleaned and returned at 12pm, and in typical fashion they hadn’t reached our room yet on this occasion. Walls were very thin too, we could hear everything in the room next door especially in their bathroom. Woken up at 12am-2am one morning when they decided to have a bath. Woken at 4am one morning by constant banging (woke up the whole floor - we did report this to reception). But staff were keen to help and the bar was absolutely fantastic. We loved having a drink or two in the bar each night and felt we could have been a million miles away. Overall, it did the job and gave us a place to stay over the festive period when visiting family, but further information about holiday cleaning service times would have been appreciated.

Good sized room with good lighting - nice to have actual ceiling lighting in a hotel room! Room very clean. I think has been recently refurbished? Staff very friendly and welcoming at breakfast.

Best part of trip is the friendliness of staff genuine feeling wanted to help Would have liked vegan option for breakfast particularly non dairy milk

Nice hotel for what I paid - some of the decor is dated and could do with a freshen up. Staff were very friendly. Next to the main road though so if you have the window open on a hot day you will hear the traffic noise through the night

Nice, large, clean rooms at really good price. Good service with good bar and food on site. Will hopefully be going back again.

İnternet was fast enough to stream series, had a pleasant stay, quiet, well rested for our task the next morning

Clean comfortable good value

Despite being a modern building the were things like uneven floors ( right by a fire door ), also when I checked in was wasked about breakfast and asked if we could decide in the morning, and was told that would be OK. Following morning was told it was not possilbe, in quite frankly an abrupt and not customer friendly manner.
