Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
Staff were helpful and friendly.

We couldn't fault anything. Staff we're friendly. We had an evening meal and breakfast both we're very good. We stayed in the Brewers Cottage a really lovely cosy room. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked again for the end of July.

Perfect location at the top of the historic centre, close to the North Tower on the city walls. Very friendly & helpful staff. A short taxi ride from the railway station.
We enjoyed our short stay here & wish it could have been longer.

The bed in the first room I was given had not been changed since the previous guest. I noticed the bed wasn’t in the usual crisp made condition you get in hotels, so pulled the covers back and there were hairs and crumbs in the bed.
Told receptionist, she double checked and gave me a different room. Then on the stay was fine. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment.

Great, characterful hotel/pub. Breakfasts were excellent and the staff were great. The room itself fine but in a slant. We had to sleep with our head the opposite end of the extremely creaky bed. The shower head was also very low. At 6’, I had to really duck under it. But part of the charm I guess, just could have done with a non creaky bed.
