Lovely room comfy bed wonderful staff

The room was pleasant but had a foisty smell to it. Lots of noise from outside but expected in a town centre. Free bottle of wine easily obtained from the bar. Breakfast was nice but expensive.

The hotel was lovely, but as the building is old it gets quite noisy and the drains were very smelly. Seems this is just a Chester problem!

just a great place to stay in.

We stayed over at The Pied Bull and absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of character – you can really feel the history of the place, but it’s cosy and relaxed at the same time. The staff were friendly, attentive and clearly take pride in what they do. The food was excellent – hearty, well-cooked and full of flavour. Everything came out hot and beautifully presented.

Nice clean room in nice pub just inside City walls, great value.

Lovely place to stay, central to everything, staff were lovely. Bit noisy outside until early hours due to students partying but that's because of it be so central. We still managed to sleep. Only down side we didn't get our VIP perk of a bottle of wine 😂

Building is beautiful, with lots of charm. There is a bar underneath that is fantastic. The location is central with everything on your doorstep. The room was a lovely room on the top floor, incredibly clean, however the walls in the room were paper thin, I could hear the person next to me talking all night. I get that it’s an old building, but there needs to be soundproofing in the rooms before I could justify staying again. I’m sure my neighbour could hear me just existing in the room next to him, so I don’t blame the other guest. Can’t comment on the breakfast as I didn’t get it, but from what I saw it looked nice.

Didn’t have the breakfast, excellent accessibility to Chester, parking less than 1/2 mile, Chester zoo within a 15 minute drive

Lovely meal. The ground floor accommodation which was welcome. Very noisy though as room opens out onto pavement. Lighting in room could be better perhaps above the dressing table or lamp on dressing table.

Everything was excellent except for the price of the breakfast, hence we didn't have breakfast and opted to eat out. It was one fixed price for breakfast which didn't represent value for money for someone who would only eat cereal and toast

Good Reception team. Very clean and spacious room. Good WiFi Shower also good. Let down by a terrible mattress/ bed. Disappointed having stayed previously. Additionally no bottle of wine as per booking was given despite my mentioning it whilst checking in.

A fabulous place to stay in Chester. The staff were very friendly, the location was perfect and easy to walk around from. The pub itself is great, and the Steak & Ale pie is delicious!! I highly recommend staying here and would stay here again.

Lovely room, atmosphere, staff. Only slight drawback was that I could hear all the nightlife through my windows.
