I’ve struggled with this one so I’ll start with the positives - staff lovely and welcoming and check in was quick and easy. The room and hotel were very clean. We had dinner and breakfast, both were very good and would recommend. But, our room was very tired, lamp shades that need replacement covers, plug sockets on one wall behind the dressing table so not easily accessible, electric cable cover across wall for TV, scuffed and scraped walls, plastic hangers that bend under the weight. The bed wasn’t bad but with every movement we thought a spring might spring on us! The towels appeared old and there was no slip mat for the bath when showering.

The room was extremely dated and furniture scuffed and stained. The carpet severely sun bleached too.Bathroom looks to be updated but on a budget. Be prepared for noise!!! Obviously this is an old building you can hear any noise all conversation from corridor and outside. We were situated over a bar which was popular. Adjoined to us another bar called vaults and opp main entrance is the loudest bar I’ve ever encountered called vinnies!!!!! Having said this the bed mattress was like a waterbed first I thought oh dear but weirdly when the noise stopped around 3am the room became quite cosy. The hot water and pressure was best ever as was the breakfast and service. So all in all a mixed bag. Oh and situated right in town with the back entrance leading to the beach. Car parking free also. I’m not sure if I would stay here again as not a lot of sleep?

Very dated and poorly presented room, up a very narrow and twisting staircase. We felt as though we had been put in the servant's quarters! No glasses in room or bathroom for brushing teeth. Towels very worn and thin (albeit clean), so difficult to dry off after bathing. No working fan in bathroom - partially covered by duct tape! Extremely bright green LED light over door illuminated the whole room when trying to sleep. No staff on reception when leaving hotel, so no chance of expressing dissatisfaction. Overall this hotel seemed very neglected and needing a huge capital injection to bring it up to a reasonable standard. We will not be staying here again, and would recommend others to look elsewhere.

The first room was like something out of the shining and filthy. Especially the bathroom there is no way i coild have slept in that room. I went down to rdception and the lady on reception kkndly changed my room which was much better but still mould i the bsthroom and the carpet really dirty. The bed was very comfortable but the room was freezing and no heating working. We booked two rooms and my friends room was nice so i think i was unlucky. The hotel definately needs some tlc. Avoid room 108 at all costs.

Hotel somewhat tired although what money has been spent has been invested in the guest rooms. The most important and impactful aspect of any hotel is the staff and those here were good, hence the 4* rating.
