Stayed for 2 nights, we weren't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel room. Even with a wedding party taking place, the room was quiet. All facilities were good and the air conditioning was a blessing.

Very recently built property in great condition. A/C in the room and a nice bathroom. Lovely gardens and a good breakfast in the morning.

Very comfortable stay and the service was excellent. We loved it. The only criticism was that you could not make a dinner reservation on the telephone. Had to wait until I got home to make this as it is all done online.

Just come back from a lovely stay at The White Hart. The hotel is very clean and set in beautiful countryside. It would have been five stars, however, there was an issue with the service in the restaurant which unfortunately left a bit of a dampener on what had otherwise been a lovely experience. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we ordered a bottle of wine and a beer for my partner. The gentleman serving us asked whether we wanted to put the drinks on a tab or pay for them, and we opted to pay at the time. We then enjoyed a beautiful meal, which was excellent value for money. When my husband went back to the bar to pay for the food, the wine and beer had been added to the bill. He explained that we'd already paid for the drinks when we ordered them, and the lady amended the bill without any issue. Mistakes happen, and we were absolutely fine with that. As we still had some wine left, we took it with us so we could sit outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately, as we were leaving, just as we reached the door, the same young man who had served us our drinks approached us and, in front of other customers, asked whether we'd put the drinks on a tab. We explained again that we'd paid for them when we ordered them. I don't want to say this ruined our stay, because it certainly didn't. The hotel, food and surroundings were all lovely. However, being questioned in that manner, particularly in front of other guests, did leave us feeling uncomfortable.

Stunning rural location. Very peaceful. Really clean room and hotel. Reception wasn’t open so had to go to the bar to check in. This wouldn’t have been a problem if there hadn’t have been a huge queue of people waiting to order food and drinks. One young member of staff, in a very busy bar/restaurant, having to deal with it all. That said, he was lovely and very helpful. It’s the only criticism. This is a great hotel. Fantastic views from the outside seating area. Would definitely return. Nice veggie breakfast too!

Beautiful Inn in a lovely rural location. The property is in excellent condition with all the amenities you could ever need. My room was spacious with a lovely bathroom and the all important air conditioning in this warm weather. I ate in the restaurant and the food wasn’t quite as good as the venue. I had salmon steaks. The recipe and flavours were good but unfortunately the vegetables were a bit too al dente and the boiled potatoes were basically hard. Breakfast was ok. The restaurant needs to be improved up to the level of the Inn itself.

Booked at last minute to meet our daughter and grandchildren in Matlock over the weekend. Good quiet location with only a 15-20 min drive from Matlock. Price (£63) for 1 night was very good and as a bonus included breakfast which was cooked fresh including coffee etc. The only downside as far as I could see was the carpet of our bedroom was seeing better days and was a bit grubby and could either do with a 'professional steam clean/vac' or be replaced. Other than the above we'd certainly consider staying there again if we visit the area again in the future.

It was a very quick overnight stay but so glad we found this lovely place. Perfect in every way. Will be back for an extended stay now we know. The lovely young gentleman who checked us in T the bar last night was so helpful and gave us all the information we needed. Thank you so much

The room was spacious and clean but the air con didn’t work and the room was 27 degrees all night. There was basically no staff on hand and the ones that were there were overworked and not available for the most part. The meal in the evening was almost inedible the £30 steak was all gristle and I ordered a cheesy garlic bread which I came as a normal one, when I mentioned it to the waiter they didn’t do anything. When I asked for the bill I had to wait 30 minutes and also ask another waiter, eventually I was asked to pay at the bar which took over an hour as there was so many people there and only one person at the bar on a Saturday. Hoping that breakfast would be better after my awful sleep I came down and there was raw egg moldy fruit in the basket, the sausages and mushrooms were burnt and there wasn’t even an option to have cereal. A shame as the location and facilities looked nice but the service and overall experience was completely awful. Would not recommend stay there.

This is a nice place far enough from the main roads to feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. There is a good pub/restaurant attached. The rooms are very nice with top quality furniture.
