As a frequent business traveler to Bali, I like to try a different hotel each time I visit. This hotel's lobby and restaurant are very good, but the room itself was unexpected. It wasn't clean, and the furniture felt dusty and old, not what I'd expect from the 4-star hotels I usually stay at. The toilet was also uncomfortable; the drain looked rusty and had mold around it, and it smelled bad. I mentioned this to the receptionist, and the entire front desk and restaurant team were excellent; they arranged for the room to be cleaned twice. That said, if you dislike old furniture or an uncomfortable-looking (and smelling) bathroom, this place isn't for you. On the plus side, it's Muslim-friendly, which was actually my main reason for booking, and it's very convenient for meetings.

I stayed there for three nights. From the very first day, a stinky smell was coming out from the sewer in the bathroom. I repeat: an extreme stinky smell. I complained to the front desk staff, but they simply said "the only thing they could do was spray air freshener". I requested to change rooms, but they said they were fully booked. I complained again the next morning and got the same answer. It was the same story on the third day. As a result, I couldn't sleep past 3:00 AM; the accumulated stench from the bathroom would drift out to the sleeping area.
