We stayed on April 11 &12th 2025. The front desk receptionist was amazing. Im sorry I forgot her name. She was very professional and very helpful. A gem for your hotel. Her recommendations were spot on. We will stay at your hotel again because of her. Please pass this on to your staff.

This is a really Nice hotel and the staff were wonderful. Hotel is in a great location. We stayed in a family room and it was a great size. Comfortable beds and great facilities.

The room itself was nice, very clean. There was no air con, a regular radiator in the room. There was a large window where the sun streamed in which was lovely but you would need aircon to cool the room down. There was a small desk fan provided with the room but it was broken. The hallway and lift are very old and dated.

Good stay. But it was hot in Cork. No air conditioning and the windows can only open 3 inches. Further, no thin sheet on the bed, only a thick duvet. They did have a little fan in the room which is really not a good sign.
Otherwise, everything else was fine.

We had a good stay stay. Reception were friendly and helpful. Would have helped though if there had been more information on the leisure facilities as I didn't end up swimming as the pool was not available when I went up to use it. Also we weren't given information of your inter-hotel bus. service. Also the electric charger was not easy to use as not very accessible to use the QR code, needed more instructions on it to help.

The property looked very clean and fancy in the lobby, and restaurants but our room was dirty, and dingy. The carpets were stained, bathroom fixtures rusted and/or broken. Holes in bathroom towels, dirty toilets, stained pillows. It also presented itself to be close to downtown and city activities which was not the case. It was in an industrial area on the outskirts of the city. Would not recommend this to anybody!

Room was great, nice comfortable bed. Overall dated, bath needs replacing, looks unhygienic.
Breakfast was the worst I have ever had. "Hot breakfast" was tepid at best. Plates were cold, bacon as hard as nails and cold, sausage and baked beans hardly warm, hash browns looked inedible (the underside had grey/black potato bits), mushrooms shrivelled and tepid, it would have been horrible to have a warm or cold egg so didnt bother. I went down at 8am, god knows what it would have been like by 10.

Clayton Hotel Cork – A Mixed Experience
Our stay at the Clayton Hotel in Cork was a mixed bag, with some positives but quite a few disappointments.
Pros:
• Room Upgrade: We originally booked a family deluxe room through Expedia, but as our booking showed a family suite, the hotel upgraded us at no extra cost. A nice touch!
• Online Check-in & Check-out: The process was smooth and efficient, making arrival and departure hassle-free.
Cons:
• Uncomfortable Atmosphere from Housekeeping: After our upgrade, we had to move rooms, and as we did, six cleaners gave us disapproving looks. It was an awkward experience, almost as if they were annoyed about having to revisit the room.
• Tired and Run-down: The hotel has definitely seen better days. The room felt old, with visible screws everywhere holding things together.
• Limited Lift Access: There’s only a single lift, and it barely fits five people, which makes getting around frustrating.
• Poor Dining Reputation: The restaurant had so many bad reviews that we didn’t even bother trying it.
• Inconvenient Parking: Parking is scattered across three different locations, all accessible via stairs, which isn’t ideal. The driveway is also in poor condition.
• Misleading Leisure Centre: While the hotel advertises a swimming and leisure centre, it’s actually at a separate location up a steep hill. You’ll need to drive there, pay an additional fee, and bring your own towels—something the receptionist conveniently forgot to mention.
