The host, Raymond is very friendly. He came to meet us at the Square and explained in details on every houseware.

Great spot but air conditioning wasn’t working

Our hosts couldn’t have been nicer. They allowed us to drop off our luggage before check in. They asked us if ee wanted water or coffee and cake even though we hadn’t actually checked in. They provided us with a map and advice about local beaches and places to eat. Its a beautiful building in a quiet street with a modern and comfortable large room and en suite bathroom. It was spotlessly clean and the air conditioning worked really well. The two windows and balcony made the room light filled but the wooden shutters when closed ensured a good nights sleep. There was even hand embroidered curtains . The bed was comfortable with good quality linen. Breakfast was good value for money and tasty. The homemade cake was incredible.

We had a fabulous time in Siracuse. Our stay was most pleasant, the owners want nothing less than showing you a pleasant stay in their beautiful and comfortable home.

B&B Vergilia was a great stay. We were there only one night but felt most welcomed. We arrived in the late afternoon and got settled in to our comfortable and fairly large room. Nice, updated bathrooms as well. We walked down to the old town area just across the bridges and found a great place for dinner. It was about a 20 minute walk and mostly through family neighborhoods. After dinner we strolled back ‘home’ through very quiet streets. We discovered the bus lines the next day and they are very convenient to the B&B. Great nights sleep and a yummy breakfast. Our hosts whipped up eggs and bacon for us besides the traditional sweets. We packed our bags and left them in the reception area when we went out for the day as we didn’t want to leave them in the hot car. Just a 10 minute walk to the Greek ruins. From there we caught a city bus down to the island for a day of sightseeing. Took the bus back to the B&B in the afternoon to head back to Catania. Very welcoming and comfortable B&B!

Very well located and recently renovated properti e

We had a lovely stay at this comfortable, totally renovated B&B. It is clean and modern. The location is ideal, very close to Ortega and many other historic sites. Parking is right in front. They provide a good healthy breakfast. Best of all, the staff is so friendly and accommodating. Carmelo and Maria do all they can to make their guests feel at home. We hope to go back someday!

In addition to the extremely nice and helpful owners/managers, the B&B is in an ideal location for exploring Syracuse.

location is great, approx. 15-20 min. walk to old City Ortigia. The Greek Theater can be reached on foot in less then 15 min. With Interbus service (bus stop approx. 5 min. walk from B&B) we went to Noto. The Interbus Station from Siracusa to Catania Airport is very near the B&B, can be reached in less than 5 min. on foot. B&B Vergilia has a warm family atmosphare. Sister and brother who run the B&B are very nice people. We enjoyed our stay very much and recommend this place very warmly. Without hesitation we will chose to stay here again the next time when we come to Siracusa.

From the moment Carmelo opened the door to us we knew we were going to feel relaxed and happy with our choice of B&B for our 2 nights stay in Siracuse, and we were not proved wrong. A welcome coffee, shown to our impeccably spotless room with all the comforts needed. Carmelo, his sister, Anna and Mum, Maria were all so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We were advised about sights to visit & the restaurant suggestions were excellent - the menus interesting & delicious! The breakfasts were relaxed & 'self-service whilst offers of something made to order were also easily available. It was good to be reassured that there was always one or more member of the family on site to be there to answer any questions. All in all we were more than delighted with the hospitality, the standard of our room & bathroom and have no hesitation to recommend Vergilia to our family & friends. It's situation not far from Catania airport is also a big plus! Thank you, Maria, Anna & Carmelo!

As Americans, we learn from an early age adages like, “if it’s too good to be true, it is”, and to beware of others. Two days at Vergilia and my mind’s been rewired to believe in the genuine spirit of humanity again. Our hosts graciously opened their home and hearts to us. From giving us a great overview of their favorite places in the city, to making sure that we didn’t need one last cappuccino to start our day, to helping us search for items at local shops, we were comfortable and felt supported every bit of our short time in Siracusa. Come for the beautiful city, and stay for the wonderful conversation, amazing people, and freshly-squeezed orange juice that’s unlike anything you’ve had back home. “Vergilia” is a reminder that life is about the journey.

Lovely and friendly hosts in a central area of the city. A very pleasant stay.

When we arrived the owners helped us to get a good sense of Syracuse. Our room was very clean and spacious - a lot of time and effort was put into refurbishing the rooms! We were also given a choice of what we wanted for breakfast! I highly recommend staying here! It is also very close to the museum and the archaeological ruins.
