Tenseien Odawara Station Annex

A bit hard to find first, it’s in the main building adjacent to the station, very convenient if you try to visit hakone or mt omuro, Shinzuka. Room are bit dated but most spacious we stayed in Japan. Room is neat and clean, it feels like a four star hotel for sure.

Great location; very conveniently connected to the Odawara train station. There are so many restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores, etc within walking distance. The Odawara Castle is less than 10 min walk. The rooftop terrace provides a wonderful view of the castle. Good stay.

Very handy hotel right next to the train station, it covers just about all your possible needs! In my opinion definitely recommended!

Hotel provided clear instructions to find the reception (perhaps this was in response to the people who had issues finding it - we had no problems getting from the Odawara Shinkansen platform to the Hotel reception). Friendly staff, clean modern facilities. Comfortable bed and great buffet breakfast with plenty of Japanese style foods. Rooftop footbath is excellent - very relaxing and great view. Super convenient to public transport and great base for exploring Hakone.

Room is good size, clean. Convenient to access to Hakone👍 next to shopping and dining area. Nice breakfast and hot bath.

Perfect for what we wanted.

The hotel is next to the train station, walkable in 2 minutes. The distance to the castle, the city’s major attraction, is about 10 minutes. The breakfast was good with rich variety of food. The front desk staff speak English that is important for foreign travelers.

Was right on top of a super market.

If you follow the instructions provided to find the hotel it is very easy to find. Connected to the station which made it very easy to get around.

I needed a room at the last minute, and Tensein Annex came through nicely when other places were already full. Not only did I get an excellent place to sleep for the night, but I learned that they have public bath on the tenth floor that uses water from a source in Hakone. This communal bath has an open air section that looks out over Odawara Castle. A truly memorable experience, I will treasure it always.

The worst 3 star hotel I have ever stayed with, I reckon it should be rated just 1.5 star. The shower is terrible, it’s one of those smallest cruise cabin block, absolutely no place to put your towel, plus the shower head keep facing either the back or the sides, just not facing you!!! Room is small, but they use the big wooden bed frame, the corners gave me many bruises when trying to move around, and totally no shower cap at all, you have to bring your own. The location is the only thing that’s good, and the outdoor onsen is okay.

This property surprised me as I’d been stuck in Hakone due to the typhoon so dediced to move to odawara station so I was closer to the action - and easier to leave the area when I could. I stayed for one night - it is a little confusing to get to the hotel, but follow the instructions to the letter and you will get there. If in doubt, read it again - because it’s quite clear when you take the time to read it! Id done meticulous research in trying to find larger rooms in Japan, this was a hotel which had a reasonable size room and the best part? Chrome cast. When it was pouring rain and needed something to watch it was a life saver. Out of all the properties in Japan I stayed in (and all were 5 star bar this one!) this was the only one which offered chrome casting. The hotel has an onsen for guests which is lovely (and sadly I didn’t get to use). It’s very close to retail and transportation which is a win when you don’t want to travel too far. Overall a very lovely place and if in odawara again, I would stay here.

Nice (though typically small) rooms in a good location, especially convenient for accessing the railway station and Odawara Castle. The hotel lacked any personality, I guess it being an "annex" might explain this

Unbeatable location literally adjacent to train station which makes it ideal for travelers wanting to use Odawara as a base to explore the Mr. Fuji and surrounding areas. Great staff and my hat off to the cleaning ladies because the rooms looked impeccable.
