The rooms are newly renovated and it’s great. The staff are very friendly and delightful. The location is the best location. The only issue is the stairs and that’s pretty standard in Amsterdam I guess.

Hotel van Gelder has a nice location, clean hotel, they have a nice comfy room! It's just be careful with the stairs, they dont have lift so when you have heavy luggage or bulky luggages its going to be a little tough. Hotel van Gelder's stairs are a little steep and small, I have a US size 9 women shoes I have to angle my foot on its side. If you are a senior, its going to be tough with the stairs. But overall, amazing and beautiful place. Will book the same hotel when I get the chance to get back st Amsterdam!

The hotel is in a great location and clean. The staff was friendly and had a very easy check in process. It’s in a busy/central area so some outside noise as expected. In general a great stay for the value.
