I can’t rate the breakfast because we either leave very early for the tour or wake up late the following day after the tour. I was really impressed of the building and how nice it is. Thank you to Patricia for communicating with me when I was panicking when our train was delayed. If there is only one thing that you can change is the pillow super soft that hurts our neck. Other than that it’s all perfect. My son love the lounging area and the balcony. The place is all walking distance. Again thank you for the hospitality and highly recommended and if there is a chance that I will go back to Barcelona I will go back to Casa Mathilda

There is loads to like about Casa Mathilda. It’s an artsy, quirky place in a fabulous old building. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The location is excellent. The coffee machine was a bonus, although it would have been nice if there had also been milk.
At this price point it was a little disappointing that some of the fixtures are a bit tired and the room would benefit from a little TLC. But overall, it’s a great little place.

Just upon entering, the staff at the front desk were so friendly. The rooms were big enough for my husband and I. We had gotten the room with the back patio and that was so lovely to wake up to in the morning. I especially loved hearing the children playing .

Had a very comfortable stay. Convenient and safe location, walkable to many sights and restaurants, but still away from the crowds. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel consists of about 15 rooms on the first floor of an apartment building. Very nice lounge and patio facing the inner courtyard. Didn’t try the breakfast.

Interesting property,this small hotel/bed and breakfast is situated on the second floor of an older building, the elevator is pretty old and sketchy looking at first, but it did work well and is kinda cool. Rooms are small, nothing really special, I at least had a nice large window that opens up to the street

The room we were given faces the elevator shaft. even though there were two windows (one in the bathroom) they were blacked out which made us feel like we were staying in a window less room. The person serving breakfast inflexible with offering some of the food before the official time. We had an early flight and needed to leave early. Flexibility with the free breakfast would have been helpful.

Staff were amazing. Allowed for early check in and were helpful with any questions we had. Very quiet and peaceful which allowed us to get the rest we needed midday to recover from the jet lag. Walkable to most attractions. Short train/car ride from others.

Very decent place to stay at a prime location in Barcelona. No frills. Basically like if a hostel grew up and cleaned its act up. The breakfast was way better than what I expected after having been told it'd be served at a little nook of a shared kitchen, but they really made the most of the space and served a great meal.
The most spectacular feature is the gorgeous ancient elevator in the building. What an absolutely beauty!

Casa Mathilda is beautiful, comfortable, and lovely in every way. The decor was pleasing, the staff went above and beyond to support us during the nation-wide power outage, and the breakfast is done tastefully well. I would be delighted to stay again in the future.
