Staff was great. Everything was great

We had a really consistently clean room. Shout out to our chambermaid Evelyn, We got a really nice room with a beautiful view including of Sagrada Família. It’s a great central location, easy to walk/commute to places. Plus plenty of taxis drive by too so it was never hard to get one. The hotel also helped with calling taxis ahead of time too. Shout out to Nicolle and Alex(?), they were really great as a front-desk staff from check-in to check-out! The ac was really good, never went out and works without us having to put any extra effort in. The bed was comfy and breakfast was decent. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was in a good location but drab and very tired - crackled wash basin, chipped surfaces and cracks. When I arrived I was encouraged to upgrade the room which I thought was a bit pushy. In my first room the I couldn’t get the safe to work and there were no instructions. When I contacted reception they sent a non English speaking member of staff who tried to use Google translate to communicate which wasn’t very helpful. When I complained to reception they were quite terse and unhelpful when I requested English instructions. 10 mins later they moved me to a different room (next door to the one I was in) which was a nuisance as I had already unpacked and I had to repack and take my luggage down to reception from the 5th floor to collect the new key. Only one of the tiny lifts was working A visit from the Pope on check out day complicated my transfer to the airport. The staff seemed to have little knowledge about the impact in terms of road closures etc and the advice they gave was not very helpful. I got better insight from talking to one of the many Police officers in the area The room was adequate and reasonably comfortable and quiet but overall very poor value for money and I would not recommend.

Excellent customer service

Hotel ILUNION Almirante has the perfect location in the Gothic Quarter. Just steps away from the Cathedral of Barcelona and its beautiful Plaza and surroundings. Many restaurants and fun places nearby, plenty of taxis as well. Very welcoming and helpful staff at the front desk. Our gratitude especially to Pilar, for offering an upgrade at a very reasonable price and for being so gracious and considerate throughout our 4-night stay. Our room had a terrace with a cute balcony with table and chairs to have a drink and/or watch the activity from the 8th floor. Beautiful view of Via Laietana. The breakfast venue downstairs is cozy, well stocked with a great variety of options to choose from. Conchi was very kind and attentive. The room has an electric coffee/tea maker with regular, decaf, and teas. We enjoyed our stay!

Perfect location, rooms were clean

Great location. In my point of view it’s more 3 stars than a 4 star hotel. It’s tired.

Benjamin and Marta are the hard workers, there every day, friendly and helpful.

Barcelona tends to be a more exspensive city. The hotel was in a great location for the price. Clean and maintained. I find Breakfast in these hotels to be exspensive but for the cost you got a great range of choices and it was all good. But if you are someone who likes a small breakfast I’d recommend skipping the extra cost and hitting one of the several bakeries just outside or the Mercado right around the corner.

Close to Barcelona cathedral and the bus and subway. Excellent location and staff

The location of this hotel is great and you tend to pay more for a big city hotel but some things could have been better. There wasn’t a single picture or decoration on the wall. Not a big deal but made the room kind of drab. The bed was old and kind of sagged on one side. The tv was small and wasn’t a smart tv so only one English channel. One chair and only tiny end tables. Tiles in the bathroom were cracked so didn’t feel like the hotel was well kept

Staff was lovely, friendly and helpful. Hotel in itself needs some care. The breakfast was an additional charge, but was worth it. Location was unbearable- could ignore the imperfections.

The property is in a great location, close to the Cathedral and a number of museums. There is an Irish pub within a minute walk. The condition is okay, and it gets cleaned everyday. The reception team were friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was we got harassed by one tall cleaner who came to our room and asked if we require “personal” service. We got very uncomfortable as we were two women traveling together.

We got there at 11 a.m. and had checked in, and have requested a street facing room with balcony. We were told it willbe ready by 2, whne we got back at 4, we were not given the room we were told, and we were told that the room that was already assigned to us, was given to someone else. so we were in a small room, and the air con wasn't working, we called the staff to have it checked, he tried and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working, this was already past 9 pm. the staff said he would call maintenance, only to find out that they are off for the day, so we didn't have air con all night. with the check in confusion, we were told to bring our luggages to the reception by 11 am the next day so that they can check if they can transfer us to a street fronting room, which we did, and they did transfer us. we asked the manager on duty about these incoveniences (air con issue and the check in issue), at at least free breakfast, but they denied us, the told us that there was not problem with the air con, this is even after the staff had checked it out and it wasn't working and this is after the staff admitted that the room that was assigned to us already was given to someone else. we were just asking for free breakfast which was $15/person, and for the incovenience we encountered, it was given to us. My wife has recommended this hotel to me as she stayed at this hotel in 2023, with a group of 6 people. We are DEFINITELY NOT going to stay at this hotel again.

We got there early and were told we would get our room a 14h. So we left our bags at the reception and when we got back passed 14h the room was still not ready. We came back for nothing, we had to wait until passed 16h.
