Grand As Hotel

Lots mildew in the bathroom. Pieces of the walll by the bed was falling on the ground while I was laying in the bed. tv did not work properly I had to call a few times they came but did not show me how to use it so I just left it off, toilet hard to flush the cover kept falling off even when the guy came to show me how to flush it. The housekeeper was very nice. shower hard to turn on and it kept facing the wall. I did not have a good shower the whole time I was there. When I checked in the staff was rude they came to the room to help.me with the a/c toilet and shower and TV but after wards only the a/c worked properly. I said I will change my hotel the next day he said in a nasty tune you cannot have a refund and walked out my room. They did not offer to change my room. I have been a manager in hotels for 20 years and I know how to run a hotel and make the guest happy. I felt my hands were tied and I could not do anything so I just stayed in the room but I was very unhappy. I would like a refund because this caused my vacation to be very bad. I came all the way from the Bahamas to visit Turkey because I love turkey but this made me very unhappy. I do not like to make bad reviews because I know how it effects the hotel but I had to.

Old hotel but very clean, cleaning people very nice and clean every day breakfast is good front people very helpful definitely we stay again . Negative think smell very bad smoking most hotel same in Istanbul. Hotel needs renovations.

They said the room we booked wasn't available and they would give us a larger room. The sheets in the room weren't clean. Everything in the room was bad. It was a bad experience in terms of cleanliness.

The staff at reception are very friendly and welcoming of guests.

There was no water in the commode for first day. The staff refused to change the room. Next day, I had to remind the staff MULTIPLE times to fix the water problem in the bathroom before it was fixed.

There is no internet in the room. The room was small. Old furnitures.

Location is very convenient. Rooms, corridors and whole hotel smells cigaret smoke.

I stayed in this hotel for three days. Hotel room was clean and brekfast was good. AC wasn't blow cold air in first day,I asked for repair. Two days water supply stopped unknowen reason, water supply restored after phone call to reception. Last day blower made high noise in toilet room and I couldn't sleep.

The two guys we met in the reception area were really very kind and genuine. The rooms were clean however, the way beds have been organised for the family room needs to be dealt with. Other than that the staff people are the amazing.

Our room initially stank of smoke and as non smokers we were well pissed off. However our room was changed and updated and the rest of our stay was fabulous. The breakfasts were delicious and the staff were superb and especially Azamah (?). She was very kind at reception. The location was perfect for exploring Istanbul.

Price and location were great. The hotel is unpretentious but has everything. The breakfast was excellent. And the staff were very friendly.
