Vale Resort

Reception no personality at all , when we booked in . Pool closed very disappointed. Room excellent. Diner very good although three items not available. Nice little touches like bottle of wine in room , and bottles of water . But we did have exec. Room worth the extra . Would definitely return.

I travel to Llantrisant regularly for work and staying at The Vale is always a highly pleasant experience. The food is good, the rooms are reasonable and the gym facilities a huge bonus.

I have no negatives to report and would readily stay there again

This is a great place to stay. Lovely spacious rooms, great wifi, wonderful bathrooms and great views. But .... I'm sorry to be slightly negative but the curtains could do with being able to close properly for privacy. That is literally my only gripe. I can't speak about breakfast as I always leave too early. But I do like this hotel, my next-door neighbour (Clive Griffiths) put me onto this as he played rugby for Wales and always rated this hotel. I look forward to returning.

Good place to get away

stayed there for wedding, service outstanding beautiful room, loved that they put on a free mini bus back and for hensol castle. i will be returning just for a weekend break

I wasn't anticipating how big the hotel was! It was a lovely stay facilities were nice, staff were absolutely lovely and a massive free parking. Evening food was delicious. One thing that could be improved was breakfast.

Hotel is set on a 650 acre plot with beautiful scenery hensol lake amd hensol castle and golf course. The hotel is clean and staff were friendly and accommodating. I had to move from my initial room as it was not up to a standard youd expect from a hotel of this calibre. The rooms are abot dated and could definitely do with a refresh and upgrade

Room was a little more dated than others we've stayed in at this hotel but still totally spotless and even though it was a standard double the bed was enormous. Staff were pleasant as always and the food superb fabulous stay.

Reasonable breakfast with usual selection of cooked options. One small comment about the need to ask for coffee/tea …. an individual pot or press would have been appreciated. Restaurant took over an hour to serve pasta dish but management refunded when I decided to abandon waiting. Good sports facilities. Quiet environment. Parking onsite and free WiFi was a plus. Generally a positive stay in a nice convenient location.

Peaceful and quiet

Our room was hour and half late for check in, I had paid extra for chocolates and wine package which wasn’t in the room. Was told to wait in the bar and they would come to find us, they didn’t. And had to find out the room was actually ready at 4pm but nobody told us

Amazing.

A lovely hotel, the room was beautiful, very spacious. Spa excellent. The only negative was the bar meal, the service was not the best and errors made during order process. Otherwise a lovely stay, would recommend

A great hotel, at a reasonable cost. Nice large room, loads of free parking, excellent gym facilities and nice food. Would happily stay again if I'm in the area.

Very nice hotel , gym and all facilities of a good standard.

My stay was excellent, from start to finish my customer service was first class. From the night porter checking me in to the receptionist taking my bag back to the car nothing was too much trouble. The service was so genuine I didn’t feel I needed to ask for anything the staff offered. From making my breakfast late because I had a flat tyre on my mobility scooter and couldn’t get to the restaurant, to calling the greenkeeper who looks after the golf buggies to try and fix the scooter tyre, to helping me get in it back in the car. My room was changed to ground floor, the porter found me a doorstop so I could drive in and out of the room. Little things to some people, a huge help to someone like me. The only down side of my day was the fact the pool area was closed for renovation. The price was not reduced and I didn’t see that until I had booked. I book the vale because of the leisure facilities. When I saw it was closed I didn’t arrive that afternoon but left it until late evening. Hopefully I can get a pass to come in for a day when it’s open again. I was glad I did come late as the South African night porter was exceptionally helpful and we chatted about rugby. It felt like the staff there were a happy family and as a guest I was one of the cousins. I am glad I went back to staying at the Vale. Well done team Vale.
