Just home from the most amazing five days here. The hotel is spotless and the staff all smiles,. My grandkids loved the warm swimming pool, the outdoor gym and the playground. The grounds are wonderful kept, full of mature trees, a war memorial and a pretty fountain. And that's before you get to the front of the hotel. The breakfasts blew us way, and our one evening meal was delicious.

This hotel was perfect for what we wanted/needed. Somewhere the kids could enjoy and the swimming pool made that just right. The food for dinner and breakfast was so well thought out. Something for everyone and the taste was lovely. Our second time of staying and I would always recommend and go back.

Beware of hotels that book large conference groups. There were two large groups, one that partied outside our window until midnight. We could not access our original rooms as the lift was broken and my 89 year old mother could not go up the stairs. The receptionist was more interested in checking out the split ends in her hair than she was in trying to accommodate us with new rooms. When they finally did give us rooms, we had to haul five suitcases, a car seat, a two year old and my Mom in her walker by ourselves. Disgraceful.

This hotel is extremely big; many rooms are in flat-style blocks that feel disjointed from the main hotel, but it's good for big events. The drinks are at a high premium rate but the staff lack knowledge of how they should be served. The pool is family-friendly, so it's not good for couples looking to relax. Our bathroom needed some TLC, the bath panel had blown, however, Penhaligons soap is a nice treat. The outside areas are lovely for walks.

It’s a nice place but could do with some decent money being spent on some areas. We stayed in the White House which was lovely and you could feel the history. Room was spotless but the outside is a bit shabby. Bar area was nice but too small and quite pricey. Bar food finished at 5 and the restaurant menu was very small. The other restaurant was closed for a private function so we ended up having a takeaway. Weren’t given any information about amenities on site or about breakfast etc and there was no literature in the room. Staff were very friendly though. Grounds are nice but again need a bit of extra maintenance. This place could be spectacular

Room was simple but spacious for our family of 4. It was very far from the main hotel areas though, and lifts being out of order between buildings made it incovenient with a buggy and luggage in tow. The bar and pool areas were lovely. The a la carte restaurant was a bit limited for kids and gluten free options, but was good to also have the option of the buffet style restaurant which was a better plan with children.

Lovely relaxing hotel. Nice grounds and surroundings and lovely staff. The pool and gym were a nice addition. The breakfast was a little disappointing and overpriced at £60 for a family of four, we assumed it was included in our stay as there was no option to add breakfast at the time of booking.
