We have spent a wonderful time at Tylnley Hall, with a warm welcome. Our dinner was amazing, with delicious courses served with a perfect pace that ended with a goergeous pavlova. The room was really nice even if I have been a bit too hor, where air con would have been welcome to my taste but I like sleeping chillier that others. We enjoyed a continental breakfast with fresh fruits and pastries (thank you for the service Georgie ❤️) all well presented and tasteful. And after that what's best than some tanning next to a warm swimming pool with clean surrounding and a present and reactive staff, allowing extra rest after check out. And before leaving, early afternoon tea with delicious and generous nibbles, scones and cakes. 24 hours when we felt looked after. Thank you again for this stay.

A beautiful old building set in immaculately curated grounds! All in all a lovely stay at a reasonable price. Friendly staff throughout, especially Adam who was working in the bar! The breakfast was a little slow (had to wait 20mins to be seated despite saying what time we were having breakfast the day before) but was tasty. We had a lovely stay at Tylney and would recommend

We stayed at this hotel as family and guests to attend a wedding. The hotel is on several acres of well manicured lawns and an excellent place for nightlife in terms of watching the stars and just relaxing out in nature. The staff were very helpful and we observed a sense of camaraderie between them and how happy they seem to be working in that environment. The hotel itself is full of character as it must’ve been built in the 1800s and have an excellent history as it was initially a privately owned home, a private school at one time as well as a hospital during the war and now it is owned by a private group. The food is excellent, there were items I didn’t like for breakfast however other visitors were happy with it. I stayed in this hotel during the severe heat and unfortunately, although there was a fan in my room, it was very uncomfortable to sleep because the hotel does not have air-conditioning (AC) which is a downfall, but no doubt the hotel will be comfortable in the winter as there are radiators in the rooms

The room we had needed to be updated badly no view only a brick wall. The breakfast was not very good. The staff are very nice. Not enough beds round the pool for the size of the hotel. If it's a spa hotel then children shouldn't be allowed . The hotel is very very over priced for food and drink more expensive then dubai!!!! Will not be returning

Lovely restaurant and very nice pools and facilities. It's a very impressive we had a great time. Like other reviews, it was just difficult to have a good night's sleep as the room was so hot. We weren't staying during a heatwave or anything, but it was still very uncomfortable at night even with the windows open and with the fan they provided

One of the most beautiful building and gardens. It felt like being at a national trust, not just a hotel because the grounds are so well thought out and looked after. Outfoor Pool area is gorgeous but some bits need a bit of an extra clean or facelift- the rim around the pool had gone green and some features looked slightly dated or cluttered. Our room was nice and big (Mansion house superior) but I think it's hit or miss which room you get. Ours looked a lot more dated in decor compared to the advertised room for this room level and needed some maintenance (wallpaper peeling, deep scratches in the bath) Staff super helpful, they greet you at the door and help with your bags, but maybe slightly understaffed for the dining area on Saturday and service took a little while. Tennis and bike hire was included in the stay and we utilised both! Don't need to book and easy to get a spot. The indoor pool, spa and fitness centre really needs modernising and redoing. It was clean but very dated and the changing rooms were tiny do you have to wait for other people at the lockers to get to your locker or to the sauna. Overall still an incredible stay and would visit again for all the amazing features (outdoor pool, grounds, actvities, beautiful dining, staff and building)

A tired and disappointing hotel that has the pretense of luxury, while wholly failing to deliver. We booked a junior suite for 1 night, the room was tired looking and dated with grubby carpets, a bathroom from the 90's and mattresses with the structure of an old lettuce leaf; all of which was disappointing for the price. But my main issue was how hot the room was. It must have been at least 30 degrees in the room throughout our stay and there was no air conditioning, only 1 small window that would open and 1 small, asthmatic fan. Perhaps air conditioning is difficult to install in such an old and presumably listed building, but stripping the buildup of paint from the window fittings so that more than one would open, and providing a couple of decent fans seems like a very reasonable expectation of a room costing £425 per night. Elsewhere in the hotel there is clearly some investment needed. Both of the swimming pools are scruffy, and missing tiles and the paintwork and carpets are grubby and worn throughout. Tired was the word that came to mind again and again. On the positive side, I found all of the staff helpful and friendly and the breakfast was delicious and good value. The gardens are beautiful and well worth exploring.

Unfortunately the hotel let themselves down badly. We paid over £350 for a Suite in the main house and were allocated room 7. Only way I can describe the room is awful. Live and dead flies everywhere, the lounge area has a carpet that was coming up, furniture that didn’t either fit or suite the room, the bathroom looks like it’s from a 70s house, nothing like any pictures on the website and it wasn’t very clean. Before arrival we flagged our stay was a special occasion and despite not being anywhere full we were given this room. When we complained the staff were great and moved us to room 6 which was fantastic and does look like the website (only down side was no air con) but it makes it even more frustrating that we were allocated the shocking room when others were available. Can’t fault the staff but evident the hotel needs a hell of a lot of work in some areas. On check out there were a number of apologies but no offer to reduce the bill at all to compensate. That shows a poor approach to managing these issues in my view

Beautiful property and had an amazing visit. Pity the property doesn’t have Aircon in the rooms. With the current heatwave it made it very hot inside the building . I understand it’s because it’s an old historical building and there are restrictions.

The indoor pool was quite small and tended to be very busy with children, so it wasn’t the most relaxing experience. However, the room itself was spacious and very comfortable, with Molton Brown toiletries provided, and having a bath in the room was a lovely touch. The cooked breakfast was also excellent and really enjoyable each morning. That said, I do think the property could benefit from some general maintenance and updating in certain areas.

Tylney Hall is our favourite manor hotel in South East England. The whole experience is wonderful. The staff are very welcoming to dogs but unfortunately dogs aren't allowed inside much of the hotel. We therefore had breakfast served to our room and we ate out at local dog friendly pubs (The Falcon in Rotherwick & The Leather Bottle in Mattingley) for dinner. That said, we can't wait to stay at Tylney Hall again and will recommend the hotel to all our friends and family.
