Hotel Granvia Osaka

Located above the Osaka station but getting to the hotel proves challenging. Locating the central gate of the station and balancing your big luggages on the escalators is challenging coming from the train platform. After you clear the gates small flights of steps to lug your luggage to reach the hotel lobby also. Love that it is easy to move around to other parts of Japan or in Osaka from this station. Rooms are very old and tiny and not suitable for guests who are bigger sized. Even the bigger rooms I peeped in are terribly small. The aged furniture, toilet fittings make the whole place feel unclean. Two round tables in the room took up so much space. If you place your belongings on the table you cannot watch television as the tiny tv is resting on the table. One you open your luggage you have no space to walk, don’t even think that you can open the big luggage fully. Room is badly in need of renovation and space planning. Having two round tables is clearly a sign that they only want to do minimum maintenance of fixtures and thus reflect the dilapidated state of rooms. There are 114 rooms on our floor! Service is good though, many staff and efficient service at the concierge. Staff speaks English. The state of the rooms are a disservice to their staff who provides good service. Will not stay here again.

Amazing reception yet very expensive for a very tiny room, difficult to open luggage as very little space around bed. No view at all. Extremely expensive for the size of the room

The room is quite small, but it could be improved. The location is very convenient. Although the breakfast area is crowded, the service is very attentive.

Location is excellent, right in the Osaka Station. The room size was good with enough closet space compared to other hotels in Japan. Once again, we wished we had a small dresser. The Japanese breakfast which we enjoyed all four days there was excellent. The customer service in the lobby area was more than excellent, someone is always there to help you with the elevator, checking in, checking out, luggage service, any question or problem you may have. I like that. The amenities were good. Here are a few things we felt could use some improvement. The room we were in (1001) on the 21F could be renovated. The carpet was dark brown so you would not know if it’s clean or not. The walls and wall paper looked old and outdated. The lighting was poor. It was one of those yellow type lights so it always felt on the dark side. The lamp on the desk was so dim that it was almost useless. My bedside lamp could have used a stronger light bulb. Although our shower was good, our shower curtain was about 2 feet short so water would splash out from the backside. There were grime and stuff in between the tiles and it didn’t look clean at all. Very noticeable while you are seating on the wonderful bidet. One more, for us foreigners, we would wish to have at least a couple English speaking TV channels. I understand, we are in Japan and we don’t have Japanese TV channels in our country but just something to consider. Mahalo for listening.

Good service & delightful staffs

Hotel was rather difficult to find when we arrived since we didn’t exit at the central exit. We arrived on the Haruka train and the exit led us outside of the station. After wandering around & with the help of Google Maps and assistance from strangers we finally found the hotel. Buffet breakfast was basic but good.

They keep room always clean and shops and food area just around.Train station just nearby,recommend to friends

The staff was okay but not compared to other hotels. Some were more helpful than others.

Great hotel very handy and easy to get to everything from it. Trains, buses, taxis. Very clean and staff were wonderful.

The breakfast was excellent with an abundane of well prepared choices at the buffet. The room was dated and noticably worn. It needs updating. I have been to Osaka station a number of times and finding the hotel was challenging, even so.

浴室などは綺麗だが、狭い。エレベーターが全く来ない。5基くらいあるのに。おかげでエレベーターホールは人であふれ、1基に乗り切れない。しかし、1基来ると他のエレベーターが来ないので、再度長時間待つ羽目に。毎回毎回こんな感じなので、かなりうんざりした。 車寄せにタクシーを呼んでもらったところ、いつ来るかわからないと言われた（これはホテルの落ち度ではないが、かなり不便に感じた）。 フロントのスタッフは当たり外れがある。 壁が薄く、隣の声が聞こえる。一度ノックされたと思い外を見たら、隣の部屋だった。 清掃は14時まで受け付けてくれる。掃除も丁寧だと思う。 部屋のゴミ箱が小さすぎてすぐいっぱいになってしまう。 シャワーの水圧は十分。

Excelent service and perfect location. I didn't know that the hotel is located within a complex of businesses and stores and on top of a really big network of subway stations which helped me for transportation , food option for dinner when I got back to the hotel at night and overall shopping in the complex .

Excellent location for Osaka touring.
