The bedding smelled of smoke and the accommodations were quite minimal. No shampoo was even provided. It was in a great location and the staff were very nice.

Wonderful view of the canal, excellent breakfast buffet, clean and modern looking room, and very friendly staff!

I booked a double room with a view of the canals only to find out when I got there that the canal view was blocked by scaffolding due to upkeep or renovation and a double room was first come first serve. They expected me to share a bed with my 20 year old son. Also could not accommodate me with another room until after I made a stink about it. Then I could only have that room for 1 day and they kept knocking on my door at checkout time. I then had to check out, they stored my things, and I could not check back in until 3. All of this meant I had nowhere to “live” and could not enjoy the day because I had to be back to check out then back again to check in. The woman at the front refused to ask housekeeping to clean my room first so I could check in. I would not recommend this hotel nor would I ever stay again.

Reasonable hotel for the price point. It is located in a right in the middle of the city 6 minutes walking from the central station. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room and washroom were small but the view from room was excellent

Very kind staff! They get a 10 out of 5. Very welcoming. They offer breakfast included and we said we'd be gone two hours before it started, so they treated us to a round at the bar that night instead, let us sample some Dutch beers and gin, and we're so friendly during the whole thing. They even let us bring in our food from the burger place across the street they recommended because their kitchen was closed. The location was great - close to train and one street over from some other attractions. The actual room was nice, with canal views and comfy bed. Only one star removed for the bathroom. Extremely tight (the whole thing is a shower room and it will spray everywhere), which led to mold in the top tiles and a very strong bleach smell we aired out with open windows then closed away to sleep.

The location of the hotel is ideal. Shops, bars and restaurants are there as you step out. The hotel has a pub too. The canal view rooms have a beautiful view. The central train station is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights in late November. After the first night, I would have given it 5 stars. The room was small, but clean, and perfectly functional for our purposes. The staff was helpful. We liked the breakfast. The location was excellent, near the train station. So, very happy with that first night. Unfortunately, our second night was a nightmare. The man in the room adjacent to ours was hollering and slamming things around the room, literally screaming and swearing and calling his partner names that aren't printable. It's a non-smoking hotel, but they were smoking next door and our room smelled horrible. My cell phone wasn't working, so I couldn't call the front desk for help. So, we didn't sleep all night. I let the management know. They were responsive to let me know that they talked to the man and he behaved the next night. And, they fined him for smoking, which I appreciated. I realize that the hotel can't know who is going to misbehave. But, that experience would keep me from returning, even though I would have enthusiastically endorsed this hotel if we had only stayed the first night. I gave a 4* rating, because it was 5* the first night and 0* the second, but the fact that the management responded, I appreciated.

The staff at this hotel made my stay wonderful, from the bar Service to the breakfast to the care when I needed directions everything was wonderful. The location is perfect for someone who wanted to explore Amsterdam‘s old town. I will return anytime I come back to Amsterdam. I would like to shout out to the woman.(Sami) who went above and beyond to make sure that I was safe and I had a good time in Amsterdam.

BEWARE you will be charged additional taxes upon arrival. Not listed on Hotels.Com or I missed the fine print. Area is central to most activities in Amsterdam. Room was nice, downstairs bar and restaurant good, view was excellent. Be ready to be hit with a wave of marijuana smoke when you leave the lobby.

All good, great location, would have been excellent but on the first night we stayed in a room in a building across the road which had a bit of noise from the street outside as it was a busy Saturday night. The second night we moved into the main building which was much better! Thanks

what a gem!! friendly staff, location can absolutely not be better and comfy beds in a quiet location that also happens to be in the middle of the fun part of town. the price was amazing!! Highly, highly recommend. Mom and 3 teens stayed, for reference.

The staff was very nice, good location, the room was good, overlooking the canal. I found the bed and pillows overused and uncomfortable.

Great little spot in the middle of it all! Amazing area, 6 minute walk to Centraal station, and lots of eateries close by. The beds and sheets had hairs from previous guests, which I wasn’t too happy to see. Miniscule, but still something I noticed. I also had a tough time with the heater- I asked the front desk and followed their direction but still couldn’t turn it on. Otherwise a great spot for a quick stay- very basic and has whatever you’d need for a nights rest.

Beautiful room! Nice view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great bar downstairs with good drink specials and real food. Plenty of restaurants and nightlife right outside and all around. Very short walk from Centraal station. I will definitely stay here again.
