NH City Centre Amsterdam

Very convenient location. Great staff. Nice room.

The hotel is in a very central location. Although it is in a street with bars and restaurants, we did not hear anything in our room. Breakfast is good, with fresh vegetables, variety of eggs and omelets and coffee/rea machine. We did not like the "fresh" fruit juices in the breakfast which tasted awful like cheap concentrated juices. We expected more for such an expensive hotel. The hotels and rooms are nice and clean. The hotel staff is very helpful. This hotel is highly recommended

I really liked the location and the property was lovely

The best aspect of this property was the location and staff plus rooms are big for AMS and very clean. Their check-in system was a bit wonky when we arrived so wait was longer than usual. Clearly this was as an anomaly.

The location of this hotel is perfect for a few days in Amsterdam. The staff was friendly and even checked in on us when our daughter wasn't feeling well. Air conditioning worked well and beds were comfortable.

Great central location and very helpful staff. Easy walking to all the sights. We recommend skipping the breakfast buffet though as there are better options outside. A nice hotel for a visit to Amsterdam. Also water fillers on every floor which is very handy.

Excellent hotel, beautifully located and with nice, smart rooms. However, mostly there was no hot/warm water in the bathroom sink. I mentioned this to the reception staff several times, but in my 5 days there hot water worked only on two (evening) occasions. The other thing was very rude chambermaid. On my final day she knocked my door at 09:25 and demanded I checked out. I mentioned that the check-out time was 12:00 and she preteneded she didn't understand, and still insisted I should vacate the room. I was about to anyway, but it was very unpleasant and it very mch spoiled the overall feeling of my stay in this hotel. Usually, when in Amsterdam, I stay at NH Caransa. And I will probably go there again. Theydon't kick you out of your room there.

Excellent location and helpful staff. There was some delay in getting room at check in but other than that experience was good.

Reception staff was so friendly and helpful, and someone was always available. The hotel is in a perfect location! We walked the city and it was nice that our hotel was never far. I really enjoyed this hotel, would stay there again!

Great service well taken care of good location excellent breakfast

The location is the real star here — great area, easy to get around, plenty nearby. The hotel experience itself? Average, with some moments that earned their place in this review. The staff are polite, but the reception service was lacking. I arrived at 8:30 AM off a red-eye flight, having slept maybe an hour, and politely asked about early check-in. “Probably not before 1.” Fair enough — I went for a walk. Came back at 1: not ready. So I sat directly in front of the desk, visibly falling asleep, while three clerks somehow failed to notice the unconscious man six feet away (and yes, there were stretches where it was just me and them). Checked again at 2. At 3. At 3:20 they told me it still wasn’t ready, and that’s when I lost it and asked for a supervisor. They made one phone call — and discovered the room had been ready all along, just not marked as such. A phone call they could’ve made hours earlier. I’d have happily paid an early check-in fee if anyone had bothered to offer one. Meanwhile, everyone who arrived hours after me sailed in well before 3. A few more notes: The elevator door closes fast enough to qualify as a contact sport. It nearly took me out on the way in. We booked as a couple — I mentioned my girlfriend — and got a room with two separate beds. At no point did anyone ask if we’d prefer one. Romantic. The view from the 5th floor is the hotel’s own rooftop get 3rd or 4th floor if you can. Super clean rooms, a big plus.

Great location right on the canal, with helpful staff. Good breakfast with lots of options. The bar doesn't stay open very late, but there are many places nearby. We were told a day ahead that our bed request couldn't be accommodated, which we thought probably meant a standard/double instead of king or queen. What we got were little twins that reminded me of my childhood bedroom. Which were comfortable but not ideal as a couple. Still, would stay here again based on everything else.

The hotel has an amazing location. The room was very clean. The shower has great water pressure. We ate the breakfast buffet on the last day and it was very good with lots of variety. They do have drinks to buy in the lobby as well. I would stay here again.

The hotel itself is fantastic-clean, modern, and perfectly situated in a prime location. While the stay was highly enjoyable, the breakfast experience was a bit of a letdown due to the limited variety and mediocre food quality. Additionally, the fitness centre is quite basic; it features a few cardio machines and a small selection of dumbbells and a bench, which may not suit those looking for a rigorous workout.
