Our stay was deeply disappointing due to troubling décor and poor service. Upon arrival, we were surprised to see numerous statues in the lobby and common areas depicting what appeared to be racial caricatures of servants. As my wife is from the Caribbean, we found this imagery to be offensive and insensitive, evoking a painful historical context. It made us very uncomfortable in what should be a welcoming environment. When we politely raised our concern at the front desk, the staff response was unprofessional and dismissive. We were told they were "just statues" and not to be concerned. This showed a complete lack of understanding and made a bad situation worse. We cannot recommend this hotel to other travelers. We hope management will reconsider this décor and provide staff with better training on cultural sensitivity. We also expect Expedia to be mindful of such issues when listing properties. We will not be returning.
