The bed was extremely uncomfortable and collapsed in the centre. The hotel was extremely noisy with guests arriving back in the early hours, screaming, shouting and pushing eachother into doirs and wall and slamming doors.

Having previously stayed at the Clayton in Bristol, I had high expectations for my stay, but unfortunately I was very disappointed. I received a text to say my room was ready and to collect the key from the self-service machine. However, none of the machines were working neither mine nor other guests’ keys would cut so everyone had to queue again to be assisted by reception. Not the best start. After the check-in fiasco, I went up to my room and genuinely felt like I’d been transported out the loft into a 2-star hotel. The room was shabby, dark, and cold. Several furnishings, including the chair and desk, were broken. The air conditioning only blew cold air despite being set above 25°C. The bathroom lighting was extremely poor, with only the mirror light working, and even the hairdryer was snapped in half! Hard to believe this had been missed during checks. To make matters worse, I ordered a sandwich from the late-night room service menu. For £13.50, the tuna mayonnaise sandwich was vile: stale, cheap-quality bread with barely a teaspoon of filling. This was especially disappointing given it took over an hour to arrive. For a 4-star hotel, I expected far better. At £140 per night, this stay was simply not worth the money. I would strongly recommend saving your cash and booking the new Premier Inn opposite, which was only £80.

We had the best stay , our first time travelling as mum and 12 year old for my daughter Xmas pressie. The room was perfect, and we loved the little note left welcoming my daughter and chocs. The pork belly for dinner was just delicious too and the reception and bar staff during our meal were all so welcoming. We really can't rate you higher, and look forward to visiting again

Overall the stay was fine - however our room was placed directly opposite the lift meaning there was constant noise and heavy footfall through the night meaning we did not sleep well nor comfortably with the large amount of noise.
