Tweed Central Motel

The motel is in need of a major upgrade.

Cheap to a whole new level. Reception not open at check-in or at any time really, need to ring for assistance. Fridge turned off, aircon remote batteries removed, therefore need to turn on and fit batteries to start these appliances. Microwave looked great until you press the start button which doesn't press to start. No bedside lamps or light switches so you need to get out of bed to turn switch off. Our room had 1 ceiling light working out of the 2 (2nd switch was missing) and 1 floor lamp. The positives are, good bed, full size fridge, a couch and table and chairs, in reasonable condition. For a hotel room, they had plates, cutlery, glasses including tea towel and washing liquid which was a help. We also left our phone chargers behind, when i rang the next day, they had them, but, they are too busy to take to Post Office to send to me, (even though i was paying for postage)and i would have to come pick them up. Doh! I live hours away, hence needing a Motel for 2 nights. Im never going cheap again, here at Tweed Central Motel or anywhere else.

Very disappointed with this stay and would not return. The property advertised staffed reception from 2pm onwards and optional contactless check-in/check-out. We arrived around 4:45pm and reception was unattended, with no contactless check-in available. I instead had to call a phone number taped to the reception door for someone to attend. The room also did not match the listing in several significant ways. The “king room” was not a true king bed but two single beds pushed together. The room advertised a balcony, however the room provided was ground floor with only a sliding glass door. Mobile key entry was advertised but a physical key was provided instead. The room itself was poorly maintained. The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable, there was only a top sheet on the bed with no quilt or blankets, and the bathroom appeared to have black mould issues with an old mouldy shower curtain instead of the glass screen shown in photos. The shower plumbing made loud banging noises and the hot water became dangerously hot almost immediately. The fridge was switched off, unstable, and had damaged seals. The TV was very slow and did not include the advertised premium channels. The room was also clearly not soundproof as advertised, as noise from nearby guests could easily be heard throughout the night. Overall, the room did not match the advertised listing and raised genuine cleanliness, maintenance, and safety concerns.

Lovely Motel owner helpful and kind, lovely beds clean and new. Unfortunately the pool has black spot unable to swim. The room is in need of an upgrade. The garden needs weeding if a bit of effort was put in this would be a beautiful place.

Clean room,bathroom needs an upgrade though,spacious room,shops close.sliding door was super hard to open need muscles.

Pool was in a state of neglect, un-enterable. Terrible shower. Bed was comfortable. Property in a state of neglect. Have stayed twice now, FIRST and LAST.

This was good value, we only needed a clean bed and shower.

Access to shops extremely good with Tweed Mall just five minutes' walk across the road. Air con worked well. Staff quite helpful particularly having arrived very late and well after reception had closed. Room very clean. However, the furniture in the room was very tired. Bed very light and moved when sat on. Drawers missing from cabinets and I had to get out of bed to turn off the lights - no bedside lights provided. Price was reasonable though considering only a few hours stay with10am strict checkout.

Clean room, and staff were good although very little interaction with them. Bed was comfortable and aircon quiet and effective. TV was a not user friendly and quite small. Overall our stay was pleasant enough.

Was str8 forward - greeted with a smile; room was clean and tidy, comfortable.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was clean but it is in need of some renovation due to the age of the building. Check in took a while for the Manager to find my booking, but he was very pleasant and friendly. Overall a very good and reasonably priced Motel and close to the centre of town.

Check was fairly quick and seamless although reception was all locked up at 3:00 on a Saturday. We received a complementary can of drink on arrival. The room was straight out of the early 80's and was fairly run down but would be a renovators delight. However, you get what you paid for and we only needed it for a place to sleep after going to a show at Twin Towns just up the road. They did allow us a bit of a late check out though.
