Tweed Central Motel

I did not enjoy this stay and I have stayed in lots of motels recently. I contacted the property prior to booking as I had interstate travel and needed a late check in. When I arrived off my flight they didn’t send any details. Upon arrival to motel a man came out of the darkness to hand me a key. The fridge was wide open and I didn’t realise it wasn’t turned on until the morning, which meant my food was unedible. Shivering through the night to realise there was no blanket? Shower leaking til morning. Asked kindly for half hour late check out due to lack of sleep and man waiting outside door at 10.28am. Not a friendly service, no apologies or empathy.

Everything was excellent. Just a tip for Qld travellers - just a reminder that 10am checkout means 9am. I got caught out by that. Thanks

Property managers were friendly and assisted with things we needed when asked. However, We booked for 3 beds but only got two. Fortunately, we brought an air mattress with us. The smoke alarm was not mounted to the ceiling and was just placed on top of a wardrobe. The aircon filters had about 3-5mm of dust and grime built up. There was a smell from a cheap commercial cleaner/ or deorderiser that wasn't pleasant. Face washer had yellow stains on it, but towels were clean. A lose tile was lying on the floor in the bathroom. there are a bout 21 units but far less car parks. We parked out on the road the first night...fortunately there's police station next door that we parked in front of. That being said its right across the road from shops like Woolies and Coles. Short walk or drive to Twin Towns or a little further to the beach.

This was not what the pictures presented. Pool was dirty (not just leaves), not a welcoming environment when I arrived with my family to be dropped off. Dirty ceiling fan, and was sold on a king bed that was 2 singles pushed together. Would not book again.

The room looked ok at first but then you notice stains on ceiling, zip ties to hold things together and a lack of general maintenance. I booked the room for my 19 & 21 year olds as there was no vacancy at the Motel we were staying at for them. They felt unsafe at the location.

It was a good clean and location was great, just that the room/toilet was dated...

Stab marks in the lounge and bed head, Mirror in room filthy, broken drwers and cupboards, 2 pillows on bed only. Over priced for what is offered. Bed was comfy and water pressure in the shower was great, that is about all

It was a cheap place, but not really clean or tidy. Pool area full of weeds and the milk for coffee had expired.

Staff

Staff very courteous, room very dated, stains on ceiling, curtains filthy, outside area rampant with weeds and uncared for. Only exception was the bed and pillows were very comfortable.

leaking taps, no milk for morning coffee. could barely open the door to get into the room. there were timber shavings on the bathroom floor???? the motel just felt neglected. for $240 a night I was quite disappointed

This was the worst place we stayed in Queensland, many fixtures broken and they'd even taken lightbulbs out to save on electricity, the air conditioning unit was noisy and took a very long time to cool the room. We booked a King room for two adults and a child, when we booked it said rollaway beds were available. However, when we got there, there was only a King bed even though we'd booked and paid for two adults and a child. Spoke to Expedia who said they should provide for that many people, and fought very hard to get the motel owners to refund the booking on arrival. But the owners wouldn't budge, very tight fisted, terrible service and overall the place was a dive. The only positive I can think of us the high water pressure in the shower, but this is because it has fixtures from the 80s, and based on the money grubbing owners, it's because they don't want to replace anything. We had to cram three of us in one bed.Every other place for the same price was fantastic, I suspect some reviews are fake and made up. This place should be a 1 out of 10 and comparable to third world accommodations. Stay here at your peril!

The room was clean but out side very untidy , pool and gardens need a tidy up, and we did not feel that safe.

An easy walk to shops clubs and restaurants. Very quite at night and very economical

it was central to everything but really noisy

Rooms so dirty bed ripped fridge rubber broken said they would move us they didn’t they didn’t even service our room we where there for 3 nights because I put a bad review 3 family members bailed my husband up told him to tell me to take it down we are wrecking there family they should not be running something that is so dirty no one should have to sleep in that

Was ok, just slept there 1 night, Tweed is expencive , so for the area and convenience it was fine.

Absolutely Terrible! Room stank of bleach but bathroom dirty & mouldy ceiling. No hand towel. very basic room cobbled together with old & well used cupboards & furniture … one top sheet on the bed no doona & a couple of old blankets that we didn’t want to touch in the wardrobe (put our clothes back in the car as it smelt) Jim bean can under the chair outside to welcome us! Went to see if I could change rooms but the guy said that they only had a ‘basic’ room left … what was this then? People chatted outside practically the whole night! Will not be returning!!

Rooms fittings and fixtures are old and room in need of a major renovation.
