A DELIGHTFUL PLACE Having reserved 2 nights for a modrate fee, we expected a moderately comfortable stay in this excellent Salmon Arm location. We were to be surprised. From the welcoming staff, to the tour of the grounds, to the delights of the large pool and gardens, all set within the original forest, it is a HIDDEN GEM. Our second floor room overlooked the long arm of the pool and we enjoyed our deck for morning coffee and an evening happy hour. The area was peaceful and fragrant from the hanging pots and many flowering shrubs around the pool. Beds comfortable, bathroom good. Parking below. Hiking trails next door. Restaurant open on weekends.

We have been to the Hilltop Inn & Suites in the winter and spring. This was our first summer stay. It was just as great! The pool was open this time. It’s absolutely beautiful and peaceful.

The hotel was very noisy and my experience with a desk clerk was appalling, a volley ball was hit onto my balcony from outside my room by a very noisy group of young girls so I decided not to give it back to prevent further interruption of my sleep. The male , long haired desk clerk came banging on my door demanding I return the ball , this is through the door and the third time he banged on the door , he threatened to use his pass key to get the volley ball , that is when I opened the door , to his verbal abuse , called me wierd and a bad person and demanded my name , I then shut the door in his face , I told him I was going to return the ball to the front desk in the morning. About 20 min after he left , a lady , I assume the mom came and knocked on my door demanding I give her the ball. She knocked twice , I went to the door on the second knock and told her she was not going to get the ball but could collect it at the front desk in the morning. There was more but that highlights the evening. I was in room 221 , Jun 13 for one night. Bill Dunlop

The shower was a death trap. No anti slip and very hard to even stand in it. I have disabilities and was scared to use. Also no grip bar. Thought maybe it was just me but my cousin who has absolutely zero disabilities was nervous as well and mentioned to me as well

Rooms are very basic - bathrooms are very much in need of updating. Bed was much too soft. There were no Kleenex/tissues. One dresser drawer kept sliding open. Lovely pool area. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool, but the balcony needed sweeping.

It was our second time at Hilltop in a month and our first time staying ‘pool side’ in back building. The room was dirty with dust, grime and dried spills on the wall. Fridge was full of crumbs and spills. Bathroom was gross. The main hotel is spotless; do they not give the same care to the other building? Maybe it’s just room 129 ? I did reach out through email to property but no response.

The check in was a bit annoying. We booked through Expedia, tried to add on an extra night. They told us to book through Expedia they would hold the extra night. We had to rebook everything. Then when we arrived we were told we would have to change rooms for our other 2 days. They were quick about changing our new room the next day. They told us when we went to get more coffee for our room the next day that they don’t clean the rooms, even if you stay for a few days. That stopped during Covid. Odd
