Staff were fantastic, got a nice upgrade - which included views of the Pier, Tower and Beach, however window was howling, so couldn’t really see much out of it… Breakfast was a bit disappointing, bed very uncomfortable. As expected with the price I paid tho. Doubt I’ll be back.

We paid a lot of money for an “executive room”, but the room was small and cramped, I get bigger rooms in London for this price! No air conditioning, grimy and lots of wind noise resulting in 2 nights of lousy sleep. What was meant to be executive about this room I’ve no idea as there were none of the niceties you’d expect for this price level. Even the bathroom and drinking glasses were plastic disposable instead of the real thing. It was like a room straight out of the 70’s. Honestly we’ve stayed in better Travelodges. The hotel restaurant wasn’t open and we were told to have a takeaway delivered! The main entrance revolving door to the hotel wasn’t working so guests are directed to a side door via a small passage which stunk of cigarettes as this was the place where smokers gathered kindly sharing the stench to which non-smoking guests are subjected to, we called it “smoker’s alley”. The final straw was when we asked why our room hadn’t been serviced on our first day, the reply was they are only serviced EVERY 4 DAYS!!! Two hundred quid plus per night for an “executive room” and only cleaned every 4 days!! This means if you are unlucky enough to have to stay a week in this shambles your room will only be cleaned ONCE!! What a joke. Trying to think of a single positive point - breakfast was nice, but that’s it, we won’t be back.

Arrived around 8:20 pm to find restaurant closed and told “you can order a takeaway and eat in your room”! Window wouldn’t close properly as hinge was rotten, so could hear the wind blowing all night. Curtains didn’t fit the window, so woken really early with light streaming in! Room was not made up while we were there either.

Arrived and got checked in, this was very straight forward. When we got to the room, we unpacked and settled down to watch a little TV, unfortunately the TV did not work. I called reception and they sent a maintenance man, he arrived very quickly and began his fault diagnosis, unfortunately he was unable to repair it. To his credit he soon arranged an alternative room and even organised an upgrade. After packing again we found the new room. The upgrade was a slightly larger room and had an additional two pull out beds which was not much use to my wife and I. Time was getting on so we unpacked again and got ready to go out for the evening. On our return the weather had developed into really strong winds and heavy rain, I tried to close the window but an hinge was missing which meant the window could not be closed. The noise of the wind and the driving rain disturbed our sleep and next morning we felt like we had not slept all night. The maintenance man saw us and asked if new room was satisfactory, I explained the problem and he immediately escorted us to reception and asked for us to be found another room. We were given the room next door so we packed again and moved into it. We noticed the room was deficient of a towel, shower gel , bath mat and toilet rolls so we took these from the room we were vacating and unpacked again. Me and my partner booked a double room with a sea view. The reception staff were useful when we first arrived. We went upstairs and there was a weird smell in the hallways. Entered the room and it was a twin room with the sofa turned into a sofa bed and an extra bed in the room. There was no sea view. The beds were hard and squeaky. You can not move without the best squeaking. Even the toilet seat moved and squeaked when we sat on it. The shower and bath plug had grin on it.

Bedroom was fine, but the bathroom needs an upgrade - the shower was misaligned and badly lacked power. Tinned tomatoes and paper cups for the juice and coffee at breakfast is not a good look. Restaurant closes too early in the evening to be of any use for guests who have a full day.

Friendly staff, broken window so didn't sleep well in the night due to outside noise! this was a family room and we had two children who also struggled to sleep. the shower head in the bathroom broken so drenched the whole room. Swimming pool and breakfast where good.
