Good budget stay. Solid.

The wifi signal in my room on 5th floor was horrible. Slow speed and iit disconnected every couple of minutes, which made it hard to get anything done. Staff service also left something to be desired. I know storing a box in the freezer or lending a charger isn't a standard service, but a good host usually tries to accommodate small requests like these when they can. Instead, it took several minutes of back-and-forth just to get the freezer request sorted, and the charger request was turned down outright without much effort to help. Small gestures like these go a long way, and their absence made the stay feel less welcoming.

Cheap and basic but clean. We stayed on the 6th floor and it was extremely hot, no air con. Expedia price says £8-£9 for car parking but it was £12. Would stay again as a great price and ideal location for us .

I recently stayed at ibis Sheffield City Centre and was very disappointed with the experience. The hotel was difficult to find due to limited signage, and the overall stay did not feel like good value for money. I booked three rooms, and each had issues with condition and comfort. My wife and daughter had to change rooms twice: the first had a strong smell of cigarettes, and the next two had air‑conditioning that was not working, so they had to rely on a fan. This made their stay uncomfortable, especially in warm weather. The staff were friendly and polite, but often unable to provide clear information or directions when we asked for help. Although they tried, it was difficult to get straightforward answers, which added to the frustration. The corridors also looked worn, with noticeable stains and marks on the carpets, giving the hotel a neglected feel. I have stayed in other ibis hotels before and always found them reliable and good value, but this stay did not meet the usual standard. Overall, the combination of room issues, lack of working air‑conditioning, and general condition of the hotel made the stay disappointing, and I would not choose this hotel again.

Disappointing, paid a large sum for a tiny double room with breakfast. Oh, and recommended parking was. It 5 mins away! Perhaps dynamic pricing due to Uni graduation over same dates?

I generally hate writing bad reviews, especially in a case where I was only in the hotel for a total of 4 HOURS, but my refund request was denied, so this is what it's come to. After a 20 hour overnight trip to Sheffield, I had to deal with the following: 1) The hotel booked me into a room that I didn’t request from Expedia — a wheelchair accessible room, which triggered my chronic back pain as I had to constantly bend over in order to reach surfaces. The hotel staff blamed Expedia for not showing that all regular rooms were booked. 2) The room's AC did not work during the beginning of a heatwave. The staff were not very interested in solving the problem — one of them asked me “do you want me to try to fix it from my end” (WHO ELSE?). Since there was no phone in the room, I spent an hour running from room to lobby to ask about progress. Finally, they just offered me a fan, since no other rooms were available. I noticed that several other customers came with the same complaint. 3) When I expressed confusion about the limited service, they said to me “well, this is a 2 star hotel, and you should’ve expected this”, even though it is listed as a 3 star hotel on various other platforms. This brings into question if the hotel is falsely inflating their rating publicly, only to then turn around and blame the customer for expecting more. I wouldn't have booked it if I knew all of this, and didn't even stay ONE night, so I am once again asking for a refund on my 5 NIGHT stay.

Room was spacious and clean, bed was comfortable if a little firm, but no extra chair or refrigerator which I think should be in a room that size. But worst of all, the place advertises aircon that just did not work any of our nights, during the heatwaves we've been having, unacceptable.

I like this hotel and have stayed here before, and my previous visits have always been good. Unfortunately, on this stay I had an issue with the air conditioning in my room during the current heatwave. The reception staff tried to reset it, but unfortunately it still didn’t work. I was too tired to pursue it any further, so I just slept on top of the bed. Working air conditioning would have made a big difference. Other than that, I’ve always had positive experiences here, and I hope this issue can be resolved for future guests.

Good hotel, great central location with easy walking distance to most city centre attractions. Comfortable rooms and great air con. Friendly helpful staff and a nice breakfast selection.

Cheap but good value. Clean and cheerful

Was very impressed that I had a kettle and tea/coffee as ive stayed in other ibis and they didnt have anything. Slept well every night, bathroom was also great shower was quite good too. Overall impressed, compare to the other ibis in Sheffield
